I believe that Mr. Legault and the rest of his colleagues should not have made Group A and Group B merge. Although it is nice to see some old familiar faces there are so many problems that might and most probably occur. The most evident is the transmission rate. Although most kids and teenagers won't be affected drastically if they get Covid, almost none of us have gotten the vaccine. With schools being cramped now the transmission rates will be off the roots and there is a chance that some teenager could pass it to an older family member who doesn't have the vaccine and now we are back to square one. Another reason it is horrible they are merging is schedules. Most teachers have already created a schedule for the rest of the school year perfect for the split of Group A and B. Now with the merging they will have to completely reschedule and have double the time to do stuff and will make things a whole lot more difficult. I strongly believe this is a horrible decision and should be reverted as soon as possible.

DeleteI personally think that it should be zoom since it is the best of both options. With zoom, we see everyone and are physically distancing at the same time. As much as it hurts me I think the split is safer then merged all cramped in a hot summery classroom. Nice blog!

DeleteA second season of one of my favorite shows is coming out on August 14, and I for one cannot wait. The first season of the Owl House was phenomenal, and after the final episode of season one the show went on a hiatus of about a year. The new intro and episode titles along with the synopsis for the first ten episodes have come out. It seems that in season two we will get to see more backstory on certain characters which I am very excited for. I hope we will get a more in depth look at the society that the story takes place in because up to now we haven't seen much of it. No matter what season two of the Owl House has in store I am very excited to see my favorite characters again and to see what will happen in the second season.

DeleteThis was the best blog I have read all year. Not because of the topic, but because of how it was written. You used a hook at the beginning, made use of very advanced vocabulary, and had a clear conclusion. Have you ever considered writing a book of some sort?
DeleteThis year has been so crazy, and I feel like I have changed so much, personally, I think for the better as well. I also miss hockey so much, I wish that instead of thinking over and over about schools, and making stupid decisions on merging us, Legault should open up our sports, because I'm going crazy without hockey, which I have always been able to rely on to take out my anger, disappointment, and energy, and turn it into happiness, exhilaration, and it allows me to finally be the best out of a group of people after having had been totally average in school, and general social life. I am hoping against hope that spring hockey will happen, because if it isn't I don't know what I'm going to do

DeleteFor my free blog, I'm going to talk about why mangoes are the superior fruit. First of all, they are packed head to toe with lots of vitamins and ways to improve your body. For example, they are high in vitamin C and they help make your skin glow. Besides all the health benefits (I don't feel like naming them all), the reasons why mangoes are the best is because of how amazing they taste. This sweet yellow/green earth-shattering fruit will not only taste good on its own but, will make you the best frozen yogurt. Everytime I eat this fruit, it's like I go to a sweet, fruity heaven.

DeleteFor my free blog, I just wanna say about how this school year was much different than all the other ones. The way we did our work and we primarily used online showed how much diversity there is to our education. Although some kids struggled a lot because they couldn't get full attention from their teachers with COVID, personally I did better as it was much more relaxed and that we always knew when the next assignment was due with the help of Managebac. This year was much more straightforward, although next year will probably be the most challenging year of our lives because we are probably going to get bombarded with work, especially the topics we were supposed to learn this year. It will be really hard for us to go back full time but at least we can move much more and we will have lockers again.

DeleteFor my free blog I want to talk about basketball coming back. This past friday, may 14th, I was out with friends for almost the whole day and when I got home around 9:30 my dad told me he had to show me something. He showed me that my AAU(Amateur Athletic Union) basketball team was having tryouts. I was super happy because Last year it was canceled too because of COVID and I thought this year it would be the same. I have not played in an organized basketball game since just before march break 2020 when my team got eliminated in the playoffs. Hearing this news and knowing that i would see my teammates and that we probably will go to the US to play tournaments this summer was really cool. I have been very bored without basketball and I’m just happy to be able to play again. I will never take something that I love for granted again because it will be gone in a moment.

DeleteNothing. The subject I would like to talk about, is nothing. What is nothing? There was nothing at the beginning, and there will most likely be nothing at the end. The interesting part is that no one will ever know that. No one knows what happened at the beginning, just like no one will know what happens in the end. Nothing is the most important topic that is always overlooked. People always want to talk about something, whether it be a sport, a TV show or even a foreign country. I doubt any of us have ever given a second thought as to what nothing is. What if there was nothing? What would that look like? Some people would probably think of darkness, but darkness is just something that conceals other stuff, it acts as a mask. What is nothing? It isn't all white because white comes from light, which is something. I believe that the concept of nothing in our daily lives in impossible, it is impossible to obtain nothing. As long as we are conscious, there will always be something. To end this blog, I would like to clarify that I am not in possession of any illegal substances, and that I just have too much time on my hands.

DeleteThis year I learned how important my classmates are to me. So, for this blog I will rant about how you all play a giant role in my life. You give me motivation to always try my best. This was weakened due to the fact that I didn't most of you during a lot of the year. You also make me smile and this year I realized how well you all do that. I also realized this year how much I need someone to talk to before and after class. This was hard this year since my friends were in other bubbles. This made me make knew friends as well. You are always kind and can make my day brighter. I also realized that everyone as something that makes them stand out which is how group project work out best when you find the right partner for the right subject. You give me comfort and a reason to grow as a human. I can't live like this next year, I need to see group B again (and I don't think I'm alone. ReplyDeleteI believe that COVID has gone on too long and that this all could have been avoided if everyone actually isolated themselves the very first time. Some people decided to ignore rules and now because of that, we are still in lockdown. I think that if everyone isolated themselves for two weeks as soon as COVID started, we could have ended lockdown about a year ago. It would have gotten the virus out of Canada and we would all be hanging out with friends instead of sitting in our houses and not getting out of bed. I think that this is all the politicians' fault because they just disregarded COVID when it first hit and now the reprecussions of their under developed brains has mentally and physically screwed everyone in the world. It's bad enough that Legault our politician and how he doesn't speak english but everything is now ten times worse than it could have been.
ReplyDeleteThe recent Covid changes actually have given me the perfect thing to talk about for this blog. I think that after more than a year of having Covid around everyone has been able to predict what the government was gonna do but not this time. For some reason the government decided that in the last month of school they should send the entire school population back. Along with this they're opening restaurant terraces and allowing get togethers out doors of course but the thing that I never seem to understand is their thought process for schools they want to have them simultaneously open and closed and now all of sudden at the end of May they said screw put everyone back for the hottest month of the school year.
ReplyDeleteFor my free blog I am choosing to write about Mr.Legault recent changes. I am really happy that sports will be aloud to start playing games again and not have to wear a mask. Especially now when its starting to get really hot outside its staring to get hard to breathe with the mask. However, I am not looking forward to going back to school full-time. To be honest I find it really quite pointless to go back for the last 3 weeks of school. Those last 3 weeks our exam periods which means we will not only have to deal with the stress of exams but also trying to get used to the fact that there are now double the amount of people in each class. Also groupe A and B are at different places so while one half is trying to catch up the other half will have already learned it. People need stability so making changes isn't giving people what they need.

DeleteFor my free blog I would like to talk about cults! What are they and why do people join them even after the Johnstown massacre which was a mass suicide where a cult leader forced over 900 men, women and children followers to drink poisoned kool-aid. This is the origin to the term for cult like thinking "they drank the kool-aid". So todays understanding of a cult is a group of people who share an extreme idea. Usually cult leaders seek to enrich themselves by tricking their followers to give them money in exchange for guidance. But what is different about cults and big religions? Well religions are included into society and they serve to guide people to live a better life where as cults with their extreme devotion are kept away from the world by their leaders. They are instead being controlled instead of guided. People usually join cults because they want meaning in their lives or feel lonely and so are promised shelter and a community by the cult. This is why cults usually try and recruit people who have maybe suffered loses or are unfamiliar with the world around them and the hive mind like environment makes it nearly impossible for critical thinking and doubt. Most of the information here was from a ted talk video.

DeleteFor my free blog, I want to write about a very underrated music artist. Zayn Malik is a former One Direction member. His music style is so unique and different from mainstream artists these days. His songs have such deep meanings that many people can connect with. I think that he is one of the best vocalists that I have heard in a very long time. My favourite song by him at the moment is called “iT’s YoU” on the album Mind Of Mine. ZAYN has 3 albums, but his album Nobody Is Listening that he just released in early 2021 is my favourite. His main music styles would be R&B, pop and even some rap. On top of all his amazing songs, he is an amazing performer when it comes to singing live. If you ever listen to his live performances, you'll realize that he doesn't even use or need autotune.

DeleteFor this free blog, I would like to talk about traveling. Personally, I love traveling to new places and visiting different tourist destinations. The best part is trying new foods, learning about the different cultures and the beach. When I am older I would love to travel the world. So far the only big trip I have taken with my family is going to Greece. The views are incredible and the food is amazing. At the top of my “Places I want to travel” list are Croatia, Italy and France. I hope that one day I’ll get to visit all the places on my bucket list.

DeleteFor my free blog, I will be talking about the merge of the classes. I believe this is one of Mr Legault's worst decisions, as we only have one more month, so let's just keep it this way. Covid is getting better, and this merge could just lead to another outbreak, and even maybe another lockdown, if things go even worse. I believe that even though we would be able to see friends, we should just keep the way that it is, and have a good summer. Plus, teachers would need to change their schedule, which makes it even harder for them, to try to bring everybody back to the same pace.

DeleteI don't about any of you, but I started watching Star Wars: the Bad Batch, and it's a pretty good show. It only has three episodes so far, but a new one comes out every friday. It is basically a continuation of the story of a group of clone troopers called "The bad batch", because they are defective. But their defectiveness granted them each a special skill, like enhanced senses, or amazing sharpshooting. The first time we saw them was in season seven of the Clone Wars show, but they have gotten their own stand alone show, which is really nice.
ReplyDeleteFor my free blog I would like to talk about trees. The first thing I want to say is that I thing that with the right location, type of tree and treatment, we can make a very tall tree. If you think about it trees are already really tall so if we pumped some roids into one of them and gave it everything it needed it could get really tall. The other thing about trees is their ability to engulf things in them as they grow. we've all heard of money or coins in a tree, but what if we put like couches in them because there are some really wide trees, and I think they could easily do it.
ReplyDeleteFor my free choice blog i'm talking about how I think Dr. Dre is one of the most intelligent people in the music industry. It's definitely an unpopular opinion but he was never my favourite in nwa. I believe ice cube and mc ren were the best rappers. Ice cube's ability to tell a story is an unmatchable level of talent that I haven't seen many rappers come close to. Dr. Dre was of course a great producer and one of the most important figures in hip-hop. After he left nwa and founded death row records he was only making power moves. He shaped a new generation of rappers. The Chronic is definitely one of my top 5 favourite albums of all time. Most of his fortune comes from beats and that's why he's a genius. He popularized gangsta rap, created one of the hardest rap albums and became one of the richest rappers by creating beats.

DeleteFor my free blog, I'd like to talk about how we might be merging classes again. I think that this is a really bad idea. The last time we merged classes, it only lasted 2 days, then everything went to hell. Just because the number of cases that we have now are significantly lower than before, doesn't mean that we need to push things into getting back to normal. If we do merge again, there will the chance of exposing covid to people and students again. And if we do merge again and everything does go wrong, it'll ruin this summer by shutting everything down. So, this is my rant about the merging of the classes and everything in between.

For my free blog, I would like to talk about psychology facts. It's amazing how unique our brains are, and without our brains, there would be no life. A study shows that when someone cries tears of joy, the first teardrop always comes from the right eye, and tears of pain start from the left. Another fact I found interesting is that when someone dies, they have 7 minutes of brain activity left in which they will see a flashback of all of their memories. Last but not least, your favorite song is your favorite because you associate an emotional event with it. Pretty fascinating, isn't it? Although I have no idea if they're true or not.

DeleteFor my free blog I wish to talk about sports. I've been playing tennis for a very long time, it was the first sport I ever played yet here I am rethinking all my life descions about stopping it. At the moment I do track, which believe me i enjoy, but is it really my favorite sport. My mom always told me stick to something and do it right but the thing that confuses me is what sport I should do. Tennis, the sport I've been playing since I was young, the one sport that I've won 4 tournaments in, the sport that I've been happy in for a very long time or track, the sport that I just recently fell in love with, I've been to multiple races but I only win sometimes, the sport that makes me feel fast(okay well that's basically the whole point of track but lets ignore that). I have to clue what to pick. This blog was just a way for me to list things about each sport, I still don't know which one I'll pick, but I hope it'll be the right choice.

DeleteI'd like to write about why I think cats are better pets than dogs. I've grown up with cats and dogs my entire life, I have 2 cats and a dog right now. I find that cats are much more independent and less work than dogs. You dont have to walk them, they're quieter, they take up less room, and mine generally leave me alone most of the time. That being said dogs are still amazing pets I just think cats are even better.

DeleteFor my blog what I want to talk about is a show I recently watched that had been hyped up a lot but I thought was pretty bad. The show I'm talking about is The Mandalorian. I think this show is completely terrible. Quick summary, it's a show in the star wars universe, so it's about outer space and aliens and stuff like that. There's this really good bounty hunter who gets a contract to find an alien and give it to his contractor, but when he finds it he decides not to give it back because plot. Then they go on all types of adventures and stuff like that. Ok now onto what I think is bad about the show. One of my favorite parts about sci-fi is all the alien's. How they look, the language they speak, their traditions etc... In star trek there are thousands of different types of aliens with all types of different languages, and it's really cool. I mean they even designed a WHOLE language called Klingon that real people who are alive today actually speak, it's great. In other Star Wars movies they made aliens with cool designs and backstories, not nearly as good as the Klingons but still respectable. In the Mandalorian they literally just take bugs and animals from our planet, size them until they're the same as humans and voila. That's it. They suck. And their languages are literally just throat noises, but for plot reasons they all speak English, or human I guess. Number 2. The alien the bounty hunter saved is the worst character ever. I hate him. People call him baby Yoda because he's the same species as Yoda but he's worse in literally every way. Despite being over 50 years old he's like 1 and a half feet tall and he still can't think for himself. He is supposed to be like some sort of awesome alien with cool super powers called "the force" but he can barely use them. Instead of slowly making him a better character and giving him better powers, the show uses him as the cute comedic relief who always does stupid things and for some reason people love him. The kid never changes during the whole show and just stays the s a handicap even though he's part of like the most powerful species in the universe. Last part. The characters in the show never get any character development. I kind of said this about baby Yoda in 2 but here I really want to drive the point home. This show seems to think that "character development" means leveling up. It doesn't. Instead of actually improving the Mandalorian in a character development sense all they ever do is give him better equips. There's one episode where he meets up with some of his fellow bounty hunter that he used to work with and they do a job together to get back one of the colleagues that had been captured. His capture was the Mandalorian fault because he left him behind on their last mission, and so the bounty hunters decided to double cross him and throw him in the cell. He eventually gets out because again, plot, and instead of killing them and learning from his mistakes and not being completely selfish towards his teammates, which would have lead to character development, he just throws them all back in the cell and goes on with his selfish brutal existence. I know I said last one before but I thought of something I want to write so this will be the last one. I think the reason I hate this show so much is because it's just so predictable. Everything that happens in the show is just the most basic and easiest route that could have been taken out. Nothing ever happens in the show that genuinely surprises me, and I think that's the main reason I dislike it so much. There's so many other things that I dislike about the show but it's 10:40 and I have to send this in before 12 so I'll just stop here. Mr.Katz, if you actually made it here thanks for reading through my probably next to incoherent speech on why I don't like the show, I hope you at least enjoyed reading it a little and also make sure to give me great grades on my report card.

DeleteI'd like to talk about how were going back to school and how that might be bad. I feel like the government thinks that because were cutting down on covid cases that we can slack off on the restrictions and that would be ok but thats the exact reason why this pandemic is being prologued further if we would just stick to the guidelines for a little bit longer we might have chased covid away.I think that moving back to full time will be too crowded cause we saw the previous experience and how we rapidly accumulated covid cases so because of that we went back to the days whos to say it wont be the same or even worse when we return considering that now we in the summer.
ReplyDeleteFor my last blog i would like to talk about this year. It has honestly been so crazy but even with everything that has happened, but people made it worthwhile. I've made some really close friendships with people and I actually really like our class. Though it started really rough I'm really happy with how far me, my family and friends have come. It really wasn't easy but i'm happy we made what we could out of it.
ReplyDeleteFor my last blog I want to talk about my favorite movie; "Dr.strangelove". Not the marvel one, an old movie that most of you have probably never heard of. My dad showed it to me last year, I thought I would hate it but it's now one of my favorite films. It is about the Cold War and is categorized as a "black comedy" due to its dark humour. The movie jokes about the Cold War, but there is a much deeper meaning. The characters represent the stupidness of Americans, they're history and how paranoid they are. The movie only has male characters and each one making bad decisions also shows how when only men are in power bad decisions are made. At the end of the film the world explodes in a nuclear war, showing that if we go out it's not going to be purpose. It probably going to be by our stupid mistakes. This movie was released during the Cold War and people were so surprised and almost scared of the movie, the humour is self-deprecating humour and most people don't know how to accept and understand that sort of humour. Peter sellers played three characters in this movie; dr.strangelove, president Merkin Muffley and Lionel mandrake and he played each one exceptionally. I would really suggest this film to anyone who likes watching movies in which you take away something from them.
