YIKES - a full week of school!

Although we are not quite at summer break, what are some tentative plans you are making?

Do you have plans to go to camp?
Do you have plans to travel?
What other plans are on the horizon?

What will you do if everything remains CLOSED?

Explain.

  1. This summer, I plan on hanging out with my friends almost everyday to make up for the fact that we couldn't all year. My friends and I would go biking everywhere, go to the beach, downtown etc.. If the boarders from Ontario and Quebec open back up, all of my family from my moms side was planning on going camping sometime in August. Also, to earn some money, I will be babysitting some kids down the street and my grandma said she'd pay me if I help her out in her garden. If everything remains closed, I will still try to have a good summer but find other things to do.

  2. My plans this summer are to babysit and enjoy the time off. It would also be nice if we were allowed to see friends and family, so hopefully everyone will be vaccinated by then. I don’t think my family will travel out of the country this year, but we might go on road trips (if we are allowed) to Toronto or Ottawa to see friends and family. I recently got a job for babysitting again this summer, so I will be babysitting 3-4 times a week for my neighbours. If everything goes well and we can have a good summer, I would really like to spend a lot of time with my friends, because we weren't able to last year. If everything remains closed, I will take advantage of the time off by staying at home and relaxing.

  3. My plans for the summer is to just hang out with my friends and to do an internship at my aunt's clinic. I have never liked camp and I stopped doing camp when I was 11, since I hated it so much. I don't think we will be traveling a lot this summer with everything going on. It really depends on if everyone is vaccinated and what the regulations are at that point. This summer, I just want to relax and have some fun. If everything is closed, I think that I'll just spend my time outside and get used to the idea of not going anywhere.

    1. I can't imagine that the majority of the people are going to travel, even if it's just past the border.

  4. This summer will probably be my most occupied summer. Starting off, I will be working 5 days a week at St-Sauveur, and when I finish, I will join also St-Sauveur's Mountain bike pass, with my friend who will also spend times in the country. We will also start construction of our garage at our cottage, as we do not have one. Recently, we just bought a condo in Griffintown, in Montreal City, and will be there a lot to look at the construction. We also planned a trip with my grandparents to go to Newfoundland for 2 weeks in August, so that would be fun. I will be able to spend time with friends as well, during the weekends, but the week will be packed with working, or traveling or just helping out with the construction.

  5. My summer will mostly be occupied. There are a lot of different things that need to happen in order to stop the flooding in my basement, starting with measuring the house so we can put soil there. My brother is getting another job this summer, so the chores will be piled on my sister and I, and I am going to start working weekends, helping one of my neighbors with tidying up her backyard, and doing some manual labor. Of course, the public pool is closed, so I don't have to do swim team, which means more time to myself. Otherwise, we probably won't do much. Last year, we went camping once, for 3 days, and not much else travel-wise. I will also get to bike with my friend, so that's nice. All these things will still happen, even if everything remains closed.

  6. This summer I will most likely be getting a job at a summer day camp, I will also be making money by babysitting. Other than that I plan on spending a lot of time with my friends because its my last summer with them before I change schools. I plan on being productive and spending the time I have getting money and preparing for things. Unless the borders open I won't be travelling, I usually go on really fun trips during the summer, visiting family around the world. Those are usually the plans but since we can't do that i'll probably just be trying to relax and have a lot fun here.

  7. This summer I plan to relax and hangout with friends. I am going to do a hockey day camp with Devon Levi, the team Canada juniors goalie so I am really excited. I will also be playing 3 on 3 hockey and there might be a few tournaments. I will be training for hockey and soccer tryouts too. I don't plan on travelling because the borders probably won't be open and I don't want a chance to spread, or catch covid. If everything remains closed, I won't be very happy because then I most likely will not be able to play sports and hangout with friends, which are the things I'm most excited for summer.

  8. I dont have much planned for this summer, other than hanging out with friends, going up north and camping. Since we still cant go anywhere, we're camping somewhere in the north of Quebec and since our cottage is in Ontario we will probably end up going to a family friends cottage once they're all vaccinated here in Quebec. I might work a bit but I honestly dont think i'll work that much. If everything closes, i'll still try to go out as much as possible, even if its just biking or walking around.

    1. camping sounds fun, especially near lakes, getting to go canoeing and sleep overs with your friends up north but covid kinda restricts that.

  9. I’m gonna hoop. Most of my summer I will be hooping. That's what my friends and I like to do. If travelling is possible I will go to a camp at Syracuse University in New York but I doubt that will happen because of covid. Even if everything stays closed I will still be with my friends because covid doesn’t impact being outside. I don’t really enjoy going places so even if they're closed I wouldn't be that disappointed. The only thing that will suck is that we probably won’t be able to travel so I won’t be able to see my family.

  10. This summer I will be spending most of my time playing tennis. I was never much of a camp person even as a kid. If we're able to travel, I will go absolutely nowhere, except probably Quebec City to see my grandparents because if we're able to travel I'm assuming we would be able to have small gatherings. If everything stays closed, then I won't be able to do any of those things. I really hope that we won't lose another summer to Covid.

  11. This summer I plan to spend a lot of time with friends outdoors. I love swimming and biking so those are some things I can't wait for. I will also start my intensive tennis training which honestly I don't love, a lot of practice and weight work which takes a lot of time and results in aching muscles. Me and my family also plan on spending time in Tremblant where we will do various outdoor activities. I can't wait to see the sun everyday and not have to wake up early. Hopefully cover won't ruin another one of our summers

  12. Even though we are living in a pandemic, I would still like to make the most of my summer. To keep me busy I got a job babysitting 2-3 days a week. I would also like to take art and yoga class. I also plan to hang out friends. I never liked camp as a kid and stopped going when I was younger. At the moment, my family and I have no plans to take a vacation anywhere, but we might go up north. If everything remains closed, I will try and make the most of my summer by spending most of my time outside.

  13. This summer I plan to spend most of my time outside playing sports and hanging out with friends. I really like going to my families cottage for the summer because we get to go mountain biking, hiking and going to the water park nearby. I family has planes to go out west to Vancouver and Kelowna. I will honestly be really disappointed if everything stays closed because then there won't be as much stuffed to do stuff such as go to restaurants. I also really hope sports will be allowed to start playing games soon.

  14. This summer I don't really have much plans considering that covid is around although I do plan on going outside for most of it. I do plan on spending most of the time with my friends and maybe going to the pool nearby depending on whether it's full of people or not. I also might go to a camp with my girlfriend to spend some more time with her and have some fun with her. I don't think I will travel cause I still find it too dangerous at this time considering that know theirs new variants. If everything is closed than I just plan on staying home and relaxing and playing outside with my family cause that is probably all we could do.

  15. I have not discussed with my family what the plans are for the summer, although I don't think that we will be leaving the house to go on vacation because COVID cases are still everywhere and I don't think that the vaccines have had enough time to be distributed. I don't plan to go to camp because I have never ever been and I will most likely not travel this summer as well. My plans on the horizon however are still up for discussion because I can still hang out with friends outside and do whatever I want for two months. Hopefully things start to open up so that I can go out and actually have fun and not worry about COVID. If everything stays closed then I will probably stay home and just relax for the entire summer break and just play videogames forever.

  16. I don't have much planned for this summer. I used to go to summer camp when I was younger, but since I'm old enough to become a counselor at the camp, I would love to take the opportunity. I don't think we have any plans on traveling outside of Québec at this moment. We are most likely be spending time near Montreal. Unlike the years before Covid, we would go on vacation pretty often. If everything remains closed, I would like to spend more time outside and enjoy nature.

  17. All of my summer plans are assuming that everyone is vaccinated and everything is open, which I know is unlikely but its always good to keep an open mind. So if everything followed these conditions then my family would probably rent a cottage with a group of friends for about a week. I also plan on going to 2 different volleyball camps which I look forward to. Im hoping to also be able to go swimming or maybe even a beach, but if everything is closed then I dont know what ill do. Probably go biking but honestly itll be kinda hard. Ill probably hang out at home a lot, but i do that normaly so its fine.

  18. This summer I do not plan on doing many camps, there aren't any that interest me but I might go to a sailing camp with one of my friends. I don't have any plans to travel this summer because covid will probably still be bad, last year we had plans to go to japan but they will probably be delayed another year because of covid. I will probably see some friends and try to do things outside. Most summers I don't do much and I don't think this one will be much different.

  19. I plan to enjoy the outdoors, clean rocks like last summer and maybe play some minecraft. No, I will not attend any camps this summer due to the fact that I am too old for my favourite camp :( My mom and I will be going camping in Orford and Mont-Recie. When I'll be with my dad I most likely play minecraft or sing alone in terra cotta since he will be working. If everything stays closed I will do a repeat of last year. Either way, I'll make the most of my summer.

  20. I don't really have many plans for this summer mainly because of the restrictions due to Covid. I believe that in the summer the rules will loosen up so when they do I will be making plans with my family, friends and hopefully go on a little vacation. I would love to play sports and hang out in the pool and with friends this summer but if the rules don't loosen up, this summer will be probably like the last. I never have plans to go to camp and I still don't this summer. Until the summer arrives I will just hope for the rules to loosen up and my parents let me enjoy the summer with friends.

  21. this summer i plan on spending a lot of time with my friends and with my family to make up for the fact that we could not see each other all year. i might go camping with my dad at some point during the summer, also with my uncle and cousin. i might also take some road trips with my mother if the borders open up soon. i also might be babysitting my neighbors kids three to four times a week just to make some money.

  22. For my summer plans, there pretty simple really. During the week I'll be working, which is new and is nerve racking but also exciting to have some money to work with. The weekend and friday nights will be spent with my friends and family. For travelling I would love going down to Virginia beach and go surfing, play on the beach , all the fun stuff. If everything closes including my job I would hang out with my friends a lot, and if that also get's shut down, I would be playing a hefty load of video games to say the least.

  23. This summer i'll probably spend a lot of time with my friends. I already see them often but it'll be more fun during the summer because we'll have more free time and more things to do. I was considering going to a ballet summer intensive but I ended up choosing not to because if covid cancels the intensive mid session i'd be disappointed. Instead, i'll most likely do the 4 week intensive at my studio. For travelling, I know my parents wanted to go somewhere. They were planning on going to Barbados for the whole summer to see family but, in all honesty I don't really want to go because i'd rather spend the summer here with my friends than away.

  24. I don't think I will be going anywhere this summer due to how things are right now. Everyone is busy and I don't have any plans on going out. Although my dad did ask me if I was free this summer so we could have a family reunion. If everything remains closed, I will probably just do the same thing I have been doing and watching YouTube and playing video games to entertain myself and do some of my dad's work. This summer will probably be like the last summer, but at least things will get better next year.

  25. I have nothing planned for summer this year sadly. Last year I had intended to pick up a job but Covid got in the way of that and the same thing happened this year so that idea's done. The only thing I really see myself doing this summer is hanging out with friends and that's really it. I remember back when I was younger my parents would send me and my brother to summer camp which was alright for younger kids but of course as the years went on we out grew it and now our summers are free.
