There is a lot of talk about opening the borders for travel again.

However, in order to travel, travellers MUST have a COVID-passport.

The COVID-passport proves that travellers have been VACCINATED!

What are your thoughts about opening the borders again?

How do you feel about a COVID-passport?

Are you ready to start travelling?

Explain.

  1. I think that travelling is a terrible idea, me and my immediate family travel a whole lot, whether it be to Europe or the USA, but honestly even though it has it's moments it's not for me. it may be because when I was 10 I almost fell off a jagged rock cliff in france, or because I got kicked in the face by a clown in England when I was twelve, or because when I was 13 I somehow got a long piece of spiky grass stuck from my palm to the tip of my finger, and had to remove it by slicing the length of my hand with a flip knife in california. Or maybe I just don't like being away from home. whatever my feelings, they never matter when we go on trips because my parents love them. But I think that will change over Covid, because my parents still think it's dumb to travel even if you've been vaccinated, because what if the habitants haven't? So no I don't think that a Covid pass is smart, and no we will not be travelling until this is all over.

  2. I don't think that travelling is a good idea at this time, even if you are fully vaccinated it is still possible to spread the virus to others. I don't even know why someone would want to travel at this time because most things are closed so there wouldn't be anything to do and you wouldn't be able so see anyone unless they are fully vaccinated as well. I think the safest thing to do to prevent the spread of covid is to just stay home.

    2. The permition of travel at this point is just prolonging this pandemic and at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the pandemic lasted a decade.

  3. I don't know why they are considering this when the majority of Canada isn't vaccinated yet. The cases in Canada seem to be getting gradually worse and opening the borders Is not good idea. Even if you are vaccinated doesn't mean you can't catch covid and spread it to another country so I do not agree with the covid passport idea. I would love to travel again but if it means I have to wait a bit longer then so be it but the more restrictions they remove the longer this pandemic is going to end.

    1. Yeah, the only people vaccinated in Canada are important individuals, and the elderly. I also disagree with the covid passport. It's a stupid idea, just like removing adobe flash player.

  4. We all know that the only reason they have been talking about opening traveling is because too many people are complaining. They are most likely going to spread the virus one way or another. And the covid passport is a stupid idea. Why would someone need an all new passport just to prove that they've been vaccinated. And, on that topic, a very small amount of people have been vaccinated so far, so only those people get to travel. Then all the karens will complain that other people get to travel, but they don't because of their anti-vax beliefs. The only reason someone should be able to travel internationally is if they are helping deliver some sort of package. The farthest I have been away from my home is Prince Edward Island, and that is still in the borders, so I'm allowed. Traveling is fun, but I can't help but worry about my belongings back at my home.

The message here is: even if you're vaccinated, you could still spread the virus, so don't open the borders.

    1. That is true, the passports are kind of a waste because not many people have been vaccinated.

  5. I feel like it is too soon to open up borders because some places are still horrible and need to stay in lockdown. Some places can open up their borders although, I think that for now everything should stay closed for extra precaution. COVID passports are a pretty good idea because then you know whether someone is vaccinated or not, it is a simple and brilliant idea. I think I will be ready to start travelling again soon. I want to wait until COVID dies down in the places I want to go because I would hate to go on vacation only to get COVID. I think that if it is safe, I will travel this summer to Mexico for summer vacation with my family for a nice long time away from here.

  6. I think that opening the borders for travel is just adding fuel to the fire. It is the worst thing to do because we can barely control whats going on in canada so having to worry about other countries as well. Also airports will be very packed and every one touches everything in an airport. And if we were to open the borders, then the vaccine pass port should already be a given, but it is still no excuse to reopen borders thinking its safe. The government sees that the curve goes down and then start opening stuff because they think its safe, but as a result it goes back up. I wouldnt even want to travel right now as there is a high covid risk and it wouldnt be enjoyable with all the restrictions.

  7. I think it’s stupid, we don’t need to travel at this moment, our priority should be getting vaccinated then we could talk about tavelling. Our government is backwards. I really enjoy traveling but I enjoy living normally a little better. The covid passport is not a good idea, the only thing that would be good for is just as proof that you got vaccinated, but that’s wasting paper so to me it’s pretty dumb. I would like to start travelling again but covid is a priority right now so I’m willing to wait.

  8. Right now, I don't think opening the boarders is a good idea. To make things worse, travelling is what brought all 4 variants in Quebec. I find COVID passports ridiculous because it's just like any other virus. For example, the flu is deadly but they don't require a passport. As long as you're vaccinated, then you're good. The only reason it isn't under control is because people aren't respecting the measures and rules. Yes I can't wait to start travelling. LAst summer, I was supposed to go to Europe for the first time but due to obvious reasons, I couldn't:(

  9. I think that travelling would be a horrible idea right now. I feel like if everyone starts to travel again and potentially spread the virus even more, we won't be able to enjoy our summer. Even if someone is vaccinated, it doesn't mean that they will never catch COVID ever again. People with the vaccine are still at risk of getting COVID and spreading it. Personally, I would love to travel again, but I don’t think that right now is an appropriate time to do so. I also think that we can all wait to travel, it isn't a necessity.

  10. I don't think opening the borders would be a good idea. Travelling for fun is kind of selfish considering health care workers are working so hard to try and keep the virus under control. Unless you have to travel for whatever reason, opening the borders and allowing people to move around isn't the best idea. I don't think covid passports would be a good idea. Being vaccinated doesn't mean you can't get sick. I want to travel, but I don't think it's fair that health care workers work overtime to control the virus while people get to move around putting themselves at risk.

  11. Personally, I find that opening the borders is a bad idea, especially with the new wave. We don't need the extra exposure. But even with the borders opening and people coming in, I think that the COVID passport is a good idea. We need the confirmation to know that the people coming in is covid free. We don't want to let just anybody in, without being cautious. I know that I really want to start travelling again, but at the same time I know that it's not a good choice right now. With everything going on, I'm just going to be risking myself and everyone around me.

  12. Personally I want the borders to open again, but I do realize that it would be a bad idea to do that until everyones vaccinated. But then the vaccines don't prevent you from spreading covid or even catching it, they just make it so if you do catch covid it won't be as serve. I personally think that the covid passport is pointless, as long as you are negative before you travel you should be fine. I’m definitely ready to start travelling again, even if its just driving down to the US I miss getting out of quebec.

  13. I feel that traveling is a horrible idea and should not be allowed at this moment. Although people with the vaccines won't be able to catch Covid, they could still transport this disease and infect others who don't have the vaccine. I believe that they should only open up borders and travel when everybody has a vaccine and the entire situation has been handled. If we people travel now, we would be back at square one with another wave for those who don't have the vaccine. That being said, it is good that they won't allow to travel without the vaccine.

  14. I think it is good for the economy and also for peoples mental health if we open up the borders. Since you have to be tested for Covid before y0u travel it ensures that you wont get covid on the plane. I do however think more people should get vaccinated before they do so. I think that the Covid-passport is good idea because it means people can travel while still remaining safe. I am so excited to start travelling again because it makes me happy to visit new things and places.

  15. I do not think that opening the borders is a good idea, especially because of all the variants from different countries that are being spread. We should begin trying to minimize the amount of variants that enter Canada. I think that having a Covid passport is a really good idea because it will confirm who has their Covid vaccination. Personally, I love traveling and I can’t wait to take an airplane again but I still think it’s way too early because I haven't been vaccinated and neither has the majority of Canada.

    1. Definitely, we should not due to the variants from other countries.

  16. I think opening the borders for traveling is not a really good idea, as it will just make things worse. Right now, things are going very bad and how we are treating it is getting even worse, and by opening the borders, it will just mean another lockdown eventually. If the borders were going to open, a COVID passport would be a good idea to prevent more cases, as it can deny people into other countries if they were not vaccinated. Im not ready to start traveling, as I feel much safer here than somewhere else. Although if cases were a little better, I would feel safe enough and I would go to Florida, as I love there

  17. I think that the concept of opening borders during a global pandemic is thoughtless it makes no sense to allow people which are the things that spread the virus to cross into different countries even if they're vaccinated. People keep complaining about how they want everything to go back to normal but aren't willing to make changes to their lifestyle to help better the world. I think that we should open everything and accept the deaths that come along with it. It would allow the world to get back in order and for us to put this all behind us. I think that the biggest problem so far has been the irrational fear spread by the media people are way to scared of this virus and don't want to even leave their homes in fear of caching it because some random person with heart problems and other preexisting conditions died at the same age as them people have forgotten how to look at things situationally.

  18. I think the idea of opening up the borders is terrible. The minute they open the borders, people will travel, and there is a very high chance for them to catch the virus and bring it back, especially when not even half of the population has been vaccinated. Now, it's not the right time to open them. I don't really see the point of a Covid passport, yes, it's to prove that you have been vaccinated, but that doesn't mean you are Covid free. I would love to travel again, but now it's just not the time. I would rather wait until the pandemic is over, and I think everyone should.

  19. I love travelling and I can't wait until the pandemics over to explore somewhere new again. However the pandemic is very much not over, which is why opening borders back up is an extremely bad idea. I understand people want to leave and are sick of covid restrictions but the vaccine does not prevent you from being a carrier of the virus, this puts so many people at risk and corona definetly has not gotten much better. Bringing it around the world could lead to the spread of strains and will only prolong the pandemic, killing more and more people. Its just a really bad idea and its not a priority right now.

  20. I think that opening the borders now is a terrible choice and that we are being lead by absolute idiots. A month or so ago we decided to open public gyms again, and from doing something as small as that we got 400+ new cases and 1 death. Imagine the backlash from doing something as massive as reopening the borders during the pandemic. I think that if we were forced to open the borders, the covid passport is a pretty good idea, but since opening the borders is a terrible idea this passport is also not a good idea. I'm not gonna be traveling anytime soon, it's a terrible idea and I'm sure it can only end terribly.

  21. i think it is a terrible idea to reopen the borders. having the vaccine makes the symtomes of covid milder but you can still get it and pass it on. even if you have to have a covid passport to travel, it is still a pandemic therefore it is not smart to travel yet.

  22. My thoughts on opening borders are double sided. One half of me thinks that it would be nice to let people stretch their legs and see family and just be in a different part of the world, vacations let people especially adults (the ones who need it most right now) just click reset on their mind. The other half of me is saying that COVID sucks and even if your safe you can still give it to people that aren't vaccinated. Personally I want that COVID passport more than anything, I would give an arm and a leg for it. I'm for sure ready to start travelling, even though it makes me sound like a hypocrite to say that, I still would want to go travelling, it doesn't mean I have to be near people, I just want to be on the beach hearing, smelling and feeling the ocean.

  23. I don't think opening up borders is a good idea, although I understand that people need to get away from everything and refresh. Now, more than ever, do people need to go on vacation. That being said, if we open up the borders, we will undo everything we've worked so hard for throughout the whole year. I find the COVID passport could be bad because most people won't fully understand what that means. It proves that you have been vaccinated, but not that you aren't transmitting COVID to someone else.

  24. I think opening the borders is a horrible idea considering that covid cases across Canada have gone up and the situation is getting worse by the day. The actions that are taken by the government to lift restrictions at this point will only further prologue this pandemic world wide. Even if they have been vaccinated they can still catch covid again, not all the vaccinations protect you permanently against the virus and on top of that there are new variants which can further complicate things cause they can render the vaccines useless. I feel like covid passports are absolutely useless and should not even be necessary considering that if the government just maintained strict guidelines for a while that covid would cool down but lifting them have shown to be our worst nightmare. Even if they aloud it I would not take a foot in any airport cause I still think it's too dangerous to travel. The only reason that the government is doing such thing is because not only is the public pushing them but also there urging to get the economy up and going again and that is there greatest downfall.

  25. I do not think that travelling is a smart idea right now. I think that even if someone is vaccinated it is not a good idea because people can still spread the virus to other people, so it would never end. I would personally like to travel, but it does not even make any sense to do it right now because most things are closed. I think for now they should just keep most things closed and everyone should just stay at their own homes.

  26. I very much disagree with travelling right now. We are in a pandemic and if we want it to end, then we shouldn't be travelling. Personally, I think that a Covid passport would help at least a bit for travelling to minimize Covid numbers. I think that we shouldn't need a Covid passport because we shouldn't be travelling in the first place. I do want a vacation, but I am not ready to travel, because I don't want to get Covid, or spread it.
