This past weekend was NATIONAL SIBLINGS DAY!

Tell me about your sibling(s)?

What makes your sibling(s) unique?

Can you tell me about a special moment you had with your sibling(s)?

Explain.

It was also NATIONAL PET DAY! You could tell me about your pet(s) and how much they mean to you.

If you do not have a sibling, what is it like being an only-child? Benefits? Drawbacks?

  1. I have a lot of siblings, 4 in total. 1 of them is my twin and the other 3 are my step sisters. We're all very different so sometimes it get crazy. One thing I love is that my twin is obviously the same age as me, but one of my step sisters is also the same age which makes it even more fun. My favourite memories are from when it was just us 3, but I think that a special moment that we had was when we went camping and we honestly thought that our parents had forgotten about us or gotten lost and there was no reception or anything and we were all panicking together. Its weird but I feel like we really connected then. I have 3 pets, 2 cats and 1 dog. I really like my pets, they mean a lot to me.

  2. I have a brother who's 23, and a sister who's 20. All that to say I'm obviously the favorite. Growing up as the youngestwas hard as you live with two people that are just so much better than you at everything (my sister in school, my brother in video games). Now that I'm at an age where I don't just annoy the $#!1 out of my sibling, I feel we can connect more and have real conversations about life. As for pets, I have a great pyranees + goldan retriever guard dog but he's honestly just a big teddy bear. Scoobie has been part of my life ever since the beginning of grade 2. Having scoobie has taught me responsibility (walking him alone at a young age). Scoobie and I love going to the dog park or simply just playing at home. Though Scoobie my have a ferosious, loud, obnoxious, overly annoying, terrifying bark, he never seems to annoy me like he does the rest of the family.

  3. Being an only child means that your parents would spend more money, time, and attention on you since there's no one else to care about, but that is not true, or at least, not in my case. I don't mind being an only child because the house is always quiet, and I can have some alone time when I need them. I think the benefit is that we might grow up being more independent, and the drawback is that we don't really have anyone to play with, especially during lockdown where you can't visit friends. If I had the choice, I would wish for a sibling, but I am glad that I have my dog to spend time with. Coco is an English cocker spaniel, and ever since we got her in grade 4, she became a huge part of my life. We have been best friends, and we did almost everything together.

  4. I have one sister who turned eleven in February. She is the complete opposite of me, yet we get along fairly well. Even if we didn't get along, I still think it's nice to have at least one sibling because you never get bored. Although I am the older child, I like to believe I'm the favorite child. I never had any pets besides a few goldfish, the first one was named Nassau and the second one was Dragon. They were both a lot of fun to be around but, like everything, they died one day.

  5. My siblings are super annoying. I'm not even sure how I've lasted this long. I mean it's probably bad enough to have one sibling, but to have four is a completely different story. Even though they are annoying, I love them to death and I can't imagine my life without them. I'm not sure what makes my siblings unique. They all have stuff that only they can have, but I'm not sure it would classify them as unique. I mean, they are...different. That's probably the best thing I can say about them today, if you ask me tomorrow, I might have a different opinion. With my siblings, there is never a dull moment. I think every moment with them is a special moment, even the bad ones because you know that in the end, they are not going anywhere.

  6. I have one sister. She is either 10,11 or 12. To be honest I cannot remember how old she is. We got along pretty well except for when we dont. Its pretty cool. She can be annoying sometimes but other times shes pretty cool because we both like most of the same things. I cant remember any interesting moments with my sister but what comes to mind is that once every month theres bulk pickup where everyone puts out their old furniture or anything that wont fit in a garbage bin. So my sister and I go around on our bicycles and see who can find the coolest thing. Some of my findings include a gameboy, a ping pong table, a metal bowl, a metal chicken, 3 shovels with no handles and many more. Its just a fun thing I do with my sibling. I have a black cat named Carlos. Hes an epic little cheese burger. He can be annoying when hes hungry but mostly hes just a lazy snuggly thing that likes sitting in the sun and do nothing and I love it.

  7. The siblings I have are unique in various ways. I have one sister and one brother. My sister stays in her room almost everyday and the only time that she comes out is when her friends come to pick her up and go bike riding. She only spends time with us during dinner time. Although there are moments have fun like when we occasionally take walks or watch movies on weekends. My little brother is the trouble maker. He may drive us nuts but we still love him anyways. My sisters unique for her taste in style cause she always seems to be wearing the same type of baggy clothes as usual. My little brother, well I can say that he has a heck of a lot of energy considering that he always wakes up earlier than everyone in the house and he always stays up late. One good memory that we shared together was when my whole entire family came from Florida and California to here and we spent Passover together. That very same night my little brother drank to much win and fell asleep on the couch while we continued the Seder, it was the first time that's ever happened, from that time on he took a liking to the sweet wine that we had on Friday nights.

  8. Being an only child is nice but sometimes I wish I had someone else than my imagination to play with. Being in quarantine has made me realized this. I have a cat that I consider as my sister because I don't have siblings. My cat calms me down and is hilarious. I love watching her run around the backyard with her harness on. Sometimes I walk her to the park because I want her to know how to return home if she ever escapes, but training a cat who is scared of the wind is very hard and requires a lot of patiences.

  9. I have two younger siblings; a sister and a brother. My brother I think is 14 and my sister is 7 or 8. Although I love my siblings, sometimes I can't stand them. My brother likes to stay up at 3 a.m in the morning, screaming at his videogames. My sister on the other hand loves to wake up super early and in that process, she wakes up the whole house. To be honest, I couldn't really think of ways that make them unique other than they know how to put a smile on my face. My siblings and I have had many special moments but my favourite has to be when my brother and I decided to pull a prank on my little sister by making her think she disapeared. Her reaction was priceless! Adding onto my annoying siblings, I have many pets. I have a goldfish named Elvis, a bird named Buddy, a crazy dog named Milo and a whole bunch of fish. Although my dog and bird can be super loud and annoying, I still care for them.

  10. I only have one sibling a younger brother which essentially means that somehow everything is my fault. Now I don't by any means hate my brother but to say her isn't aggravating would just be a lie. My brother has somehow always managed to everything in a way to inconvenience me and I don't even know how he does it. For example when he drops something or does something wrong I always play apart in it even if I had no idea what was going on. I think the one thing that drives me insane the most is his reluctance to try and put effort in things because he's incredibly smart and is capable of great things but he never tries to achieve them because he doesn't think he's good enough.

  11. I have a younger sister who’s 12 years old. She’s the complete opposite of me, and we usually don't get along. She’d rather read in her room than go outside and play sports with me. One thing that we have in common is that we both like the same kinds of movies, so we usually watch them together. One night we binged Marvel movies and it was really fun! I have a dog named Stella. She’s small and has white fur. Even though she can be really annoying, I love her to death. My sister also has 2 fish, which I honestly cannot remember the names of. She used to have 4 but 2 of them died when we asked our neighbours to take care of them… Oops.

  12. I only have one sibling, an 11 year old brother. My brother and I get along pretty well. We don’t usually fight. He is super sweet, funny and I love him to death. I believe the simple moments are the most special. For example, when we play board games together or go on a walk together. I also have a puppy named Mia who is 5 months old. She is a chocolate brown cockapoo and extremely loving. She means so much to me and is constantly making me laugh.

  13. I have one little sister, who is 13 years olds. She can be pretty cool, except when she is very annoying. She is a big snitch, and literally tells my parents everything, which means I get in trouble often. Although she can be very annoying, she can be cool sometimes, and we like do things together, like playing video games, or playing outside. Once when our grandparents told us someone was throwing out their trampoline because the kids were too old, we when as fast as possible to check it out, and our dog followed us. I remember we had to drop our bikes and run and and get him as he was blocking the cars and they honking. That was also one of my favourite memories with my dog. He is a woodle, meaning is part poodle and wheaten terrier. I love him very much and I would not know what to do without him as I had him all my life

  14. I have two siblings. I have an older brother, and a younger sister. My brother can be a pain, literally, cause he hurts me a lot, but I have more in common with him than my younger sister. She is a snitch who cannot keep her mouth closed, and will say she doesn't like a certain type of food just because it looks unappealing to her. My siblings aren't very unique, although my brother enjoys playing video games, which is one of the things we bond over, and my sister is a very good artist. To be honest, I have never had any real "special" moments with my siblings. I do have two pets as well, a rabbit, who is now technically an old man, and is very rude. We also have a dog, that is four and isn't trained very well. We have to separate them, though, because the dog will lick the rabbit if they are in the same room together, and the rabbit poops everywhere. Both of them mean a lot to me, because I enjoy spending time with them.

  15. I have two sibling. My first sister who is named Nicola age 12 and my second sister is Abigail who is 7 months. I don't really know my second sister that well considering she cannot even talk yet. However Nikki and I are very much similar. My favourite memory with my sister when about nine years old when we first moved into my house. We got our old ballet leotards on and made a ballerina fairy show my mom and dad. My parents filmed it and we still watch it. I have two dogs. My chocolate labrador name Olivier and my golden doddle name Cooper.

  16. a lot of people find their siblings annoying and dislike having to live with someone else but i think its really cool that you have someone to spend time with that isn't a parent, especially during the pandemic. Because i'm an only child, i was really outgoing when i was younger, it really forced me to be social and talk to people, but as i got a little older i started having trouble doing things outside my comfort zone and i got less talkative. There are some advantages of being an only child, for example i travel a lot and i really love meeting people and doing things around the world, i also am my grandparents favourite grandchild so i get the best christmas gifts.

  17. I have one older sister. We are complete opposites and our personalities often clash with each other. I guess you can say she's unique by the way that i've never found a person I disagree with more in my life. We don't really fight often because it's a waste of energy. If we ever get mad at each other it's because sometimes she takes my clothes without asking me or I take something from her jewelry collection thinking she won't notice. I don't really have any special moments with her but one time I had a dance show and my parents couldn't show up because they were working. My sister surprised me and came to watch, that meant a lot to me and I don't think she'll ever realize how much I value that moment.

  18. I've got three older brothers for siblings, I would say were pretty close, we don't really get into fights anymore, I think that we kind of just realized it was useless to fight. What makes my siblings unique is that were all boys, people say we all look alike and three out of four of us have the exact same eye color, as well as the fact that I think I'm one of the only siblings on earth who actually enjoys being with my brothers. I also have one younger brother who is new to the family, he's very hairy and eats' kibble. Ozzy is an australien shepherd and he get's lots of love from the whole family.

  19. I have one full brother, a half brother and a half sister, but they're all the same to me I love them still. My brother gets very annoying and is a screen addict on the ps4, but he's great and sometimes pretty funny, and very good at math. My half sister is an exceptional artist, she teaches art at Herzliah private school, and she's been through it all so she's a great person to talk top if ever you need help with your life. I haven't seen much of my half brother recently since he lives in Ontario, and there are Covid regulations, but he's studying to go into medicine, even though he's the best salesperson I've ever met, he could sell a pork chop to a vegan, except he sold cellphones not grocery. I've also learned from him, he's showed me the ropes and I'm happy to say that his teaching really translates well into real life. Anyway my siblings are great, and they all have at least one thing that makes them special in the world, but multiple that make them special in my heart.

  20. I do not have any siblings, I really like being an only child because I don't think I would get along with a sibling. I can't think of any benefits or downfalls of being an only child but I do like being alone in the house and with a sibling there is someone always there so I guess that's a benefit. I do have a pet cat who does mean a lot to me, my family and I adopted him from a shelter when I was in the first grade.

  21. I have two brothers and a sister, they are sometimes mean, funny but most of the time a real pain in the... They are unique because they can be really fun and sometimes really lazy. I remember one time where we four kids snuck around the house to get candy from the cupboard when we were little, and we devised this whole plan only to have it fail miserably because my parents heard us talking about it the whole time. It was fun when we were young kids and we had so much to do in a group of four. We constantly ask our parents for a pet dog but they refuse every time because they say it is too much work, yet they say that we kids are lazy. Getting a pet would give us some responsibility and would help a lot.

  22. All I have is one brother. He's one year younger than me and he's constantly bothering me. There's nothing unique about my brother, he's just a default character, a blank template. The only trait he has is that he's ridiculously annoying and always ticks me off no matter what and even though he's only one year younger than me, he's worse at almost everything. Even though we're brothers we don't do much together, so I can't really pick out any special memories I have with him.

  23. I have 3 little sisters and they are extremely annoying. They like to bother me and always try to cause a fight. I'm the complete opposite from my sisters, I like sports, they don’t, I don’t really like social media or technologie, they love that stuff. We just don’t click but I love them though. I have a dog, he's very small, about 10 pounds on a good day but I like him. He gives me a lot of attention, probably because I eat a lot and he’s trying to get food, but he’s funny so I keep him around. He doesn't talk to me like my sisters do so we just chill. If you don’t have a dog I recommend you get one because they will be with you no matter what.

  24. I have one brother who is 3 years older than me. He is in his first year of cegep at John Abbott, which I feel really bad for him because it's online. My brother has a very dry sense of humour and he always makes me laugh. He also has the best death stares, like he's looking into your soul which is intimidating. My favourite memory with him would be when we were younger on Christmas mornings. We would always wake up early and open the presents in our stockings, then we would wait for our parents to get up to open the other gifts and it was always so much fun. The only pets I have are some fish, which they are kind of fun because they breed a lot and the babies are cute.

  25. I only have one younger sister. My sister is in grade four so she is nine years old. She is artistic and creative. She likes to draw and paint on the weekends. I think she is also smart. I don't spend much time with my sister except after school when i pick her up to walk home with her so i don't really have any special moments with her. I have a dog named buster. He's like 10 or 11 years old i think. He's small and white and we've had him since i was five so he means a lot to me
