BLOG 40 is FREE CHOICE! You could blog about whatever it is you want, except what you've already blogged about! You could go on a rant or you could simply blog about something important to you. Some ideas include EASTER or PASSOVER holiday!
Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience. Write about something you are passionate about.
You must remember your audience. It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog! If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this. You could give them a pseudonym (example: Mr. Ed) or simply leave their name as anonymous. Make sure your language is appropriate. Do not go on swearing tangents

I just want to say that I thinks its really stupid that we have to go back to school full time. The A B thing is working pretty good and just because the cases have lowered doesn’t mean we should just put our guard down. I think that we are going into a third wave and going back to school full time isn’t going to help. I believe that it would be best if we stayed how we are now until the end of the year to try and slow down this virus even more.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Great blog!
DeleteYeah, it is really stupid to go back to full time. Good blog!
DeleteI completely agree, The A and B groups work perfectly, so why change them. Great Blog!
DeleteI like the idea of seeing all of the class again, but I think doing zoom classes is a smarter desition than craming everyone in one classroom. though i would love seeing everyone in person, i just dont see it possible with the fact that covid is a thing still. I feel less motivated to focus on grades and school, because of the half class situation and the one day on one day off schedule. i dont think im the only one finding this hard and boring. overall, i hope to see you all on wednesday unless things change. have a great long weekend. (after tomorrow)
ReplyDeleteI think that it's a horrible idea to merge the classes back together again. I doesn't make any sense to go back to normal at this time of the year. Everything is going to change and everything is messed up. This whole system might not be the best, but it's working right now. Going back to normal is just asking to get Covid. I just think that it's a really bad idea.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a bad idea too, great blog!
DeleteI agree its not the best time to back to normal. Great blog!
DeleteI'm excited for our break from school because the weather's finally getting nicer so I can spend more time outside. Summer is my favourite season because there's so much you can do and there's no school. Although I don't think i'll be travelling this summer I already had plans to do another dance intensive which is around a month of dance everyday for several hours. I'm excited for that because intensive's are usually more fun and less stressful than regular dance. The only thing I don't like about the weather getting warmer is how uncomfortable it gets at school. I think it's gonna be gross being in a full class with no air conditioning and having to wear masks again.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for summer too! great blog!
DeleteI don't want to back to the full class because I prefer the small class size. It is easier to ask questions and do presentation. Also each class is at a different part of the curriculum so it sucks that once class will have to suffer by redoing stuff they already learned. No one is the schools are vaccinated so its not like people are protected and at st thomas the class sizes are around thirty people so it will be hard keep a two meter distance in the classroom. The only thing good about going back full time is that you get to see your friends on the other day.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I prefer when the classes are smaller. Great blog
DeleteFor this blog I have decided to talk about how excited I am for Easter. Easter is my favorite holiday after Christmas. My favorite part of Easter is eating a bunch of chocolate and going on a scavenger hunt with all my cousins. I am really disappointed that I will not be able to spend Easter with my family for the second year in a row because of Covid. Hopefully next year everyone will be vaccinated and we will be able to celebrate in-person and not over Zoom.
ReplyDeleteI personally do not like Easter, but it does really suck not being able to see family.
DeleteFor my free blog, I will be talking about some unpopular opinions I have. First off, I feel like pizza is wayyyyy overrated. I guess it's the italian in me but I personally think it's not the best. Obviously I would still eat homemade pizza. Another unpopular opinion I have is that the show friends is unfunny and is one of the most overrated shows to watch. I just don't see how people can watch all their seasons and still find it funny. The last unpopular opinion I have is that orange juice is superior to apple juice. Even though I don't really drink juice, if I had a choice, I would pick orange juice. (Please don't attack me)
ReplyDeleteI agree, pizza is overrated. Great blog!
DeleteYou are a disgusting human being, and you should be executed for the treason you have admitted to today. Shame on you.
DeleteI may not agree with you on the pizza one, but yeah Im not the biggest fan of friends. But then again I dont really have a right to say that because ive only seen a few episodes
DeleteI completely agree, friends sucked and is completely unfunny and orange juice is clearly superior.
DeleteI wanna say that the french government has been taking COVID really bad, compared to everywhere else in the world. It has the most cases out of any province in Canada I’m pretty sure and the fact that we are going to school is one of the faults of Legeault. We should be doing online school, as there is no risk of getting infected, and that we wouldn’t have that many cases. There have been so many schools shutting down, and the fact that online school is possible just makes it even worse. Why do school when you can do online schooling and you know that it works. I still don’t understand how the french government thinks
ReplyDeleteFor my free topic, I decide to talk about Legault's decision to merge classes together. I believe this is a terrible idea, because first of all, there are new variants, some not as bad and some worse. I believe they should just keep it the same until the end of the year, as we are doing so well and this decision can ruin everything; and we would have to restart the lockdown. The group A and B thing is really working well, cases are lowering, and by lowering our guard down, it will all be for nothing. This is a stupid decision that nobody will like
ReplyDeleteI agree, with the new variants, it's not smart to merge classes. Great blog!
DeleteI think DOOM is a really good game, and people should play it more. This game, I don't prefer it as much as I prefer Titanfall 2 ( great game by the way, you should all play it ), but it still is a fun game if you accept a lot of gore and blood-fueled violence. The funny thing about this game is that it is an extremely christian friendly game, technically. The character you play as has the goal of literally killing hell, and everything inside it. You have to stop demonic corruption from getting to earth in the first game, and in the second, you are tasked with defeating heaven, because they want hell to consume earth, in order to get energy. So you have to stop them, and then you have to stop hell as well. Good game, and I don't understand why some catholics are against it, when it literally is promoting defeating evil. That's all I have to say.
ReplyDeleteNever played DOOM, I should try it one time, I bet it is a good game.
DeleteI recently bought a game called Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and I have played it for so long even though I got it so recently. I have had so much fun playing it and I am also so good at it. I play it with many friends outside of school and we play online and destroy people. I have played over 50 hours of this game and I can't stop. It is so addicting because I have played games like it and been addicted to those ones as well. I love playing Call of Duty, in fact I even started playing at the age of four,
ReplyDeleteIm going to be talking about one of my favorite things that ever happened because I find it hilarious. If you don't know, there is a card game called cards against humanity which is described as a card game for horrible people. So anywhays, on a black friday, the company for cards against humanity started a fundraiser and raised over 100,000 dollars. For what you ask? Not cancer research, not for the homeless, but to dig a massive hole in the ground. The hole served no purpose whatsoever, it was just a 100,000 dollar hole in the ground. It was completely pointless. And then when they finished digging the hole, instead of keeping it, they just filled it back up with dirt again. The reason for this? Because it was funny they said. And I agree. So pretty much a card company raises one hundred thousand dollars to dig a big hole then cover it back up again.
ReplyDeleteFor my free blog, I would like to talk about how excited I am for summer. Apparently this year is going to be a very hot summer. I can't wait to relax by the pool and enjoy the time off. I hope that this summer I can get out more and see my friends, because last summer the virus prevented me from doing so. I also am looking forward to playing tennis and soccer. I can't wait to be able to go outside in shorts and a t-shirt instead of a jacket and boots! Even though this year we can’t go on vacation or travel, sometimes it’s good to take a break and relax.
ReplyDeleteThe summer is gonna be boring for me, nothing really interesting gonna happen cause of covid.
DeleteFor my last free choice blog I talked about my least favorite animal, for this blog I will talk about the animal that scares me the most. This animal is none other than the giraffe, for some reason these animals are just the strangest creatures to me and I am absolutely terrified of them. I think what makes them so frightening to me is just how large they are, giraffes are the tallest mammals on earth and their necks are on average six feet tall weighing about 600 pounds. Even though their neck is so long it still can't touch the floor making the giraffes have to bend their legs when drinking water which is very weird to look at. Their legs are also around six feet tall on average, because of their freakishly long legs the giraffe can run at frightening speeds, around 60 kilometers per hour. This is very fast, for comparison the average giraffe can easily outrun a horse at top speed and could without a doubt outrun any human. Everyday I wake up in fear of the giraffe. What if I see one and it's 20 inch tongue pulled my hair? I ponder. What If it chases after me? It would outrun me without trying. What if I get hit by the 600 pound neck of this ferocious beast? I would surely be crushed. I hope I have enlightened you, dear reader, as you are now surely afraid of this towering menace, but worry not giraffes are herbivores and will not try to eat you.
ReplyDeletewhat! I find them so cute. great blog
DeleteI want to talk about how terrible Mr. Legault is handling Covid especially for schools. He had just told us that he was worried for a third wave and that the government is preparing for it, then he goes and merges the school groups back together, which doesn't make any sense. It's going to be getting hotter and i'm personally not very excited to be stuck in a small sweaty space with 30 other students around this time. It's going to spread cases and we definetly won't be getting a good summer. even though people are getting vaccinated it's too soon to put kids back together, especially since teachers are not receiving priority in vaccination.
ReplyDeleteI really don't know what to write so I'm just going to start writing. So they want to merge the classes back together which is stupid because it's just going to increase the cases and were aren't even in an orange zone so it doesn't make sense. ON top of all of that it's so sudden that it's going to be weird and I don't want to be at school full time again. There's also so many tests and projects that are coming up and as a whole it' just an awful time to change everyone back.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna be talking about something that is really important to me and that is communism. Communism is the best possible reality. Let me put it this way, would you rather have to work all your life for a crappy job you hate and make next to no pay to retire at 65 with only the worst years of your life left, or would you rather not have to work at all and be supported while also being able to be as lazy as you want?
ReplyDeleteNone of those options. I rather work a job I love and get payed good money, but humans need a sense of purpose so sitting around and being lazy sounds great until it drives you crazy. Not to mention if no one is working how is our society going to run?
Delete@Miranda That's an interesting point you brought up about humans needing a sense of purpose, that would make a great discussion point.
DeleteSorry Devon, but I disagree, my mother had to leave the country where she was born (Poland) due to communism and move to Algeria in Africa because her parents could not get a job under communism, even though my grandfather is a PHd in electrical engineering and my grandmother a popular lawyer, under communism you also have to work, and the military can call upon you whenever they want, so I'd hardly call it being lazy, so much as being owned by a government.
DeleteFor this free blog I want to talk about what I plan to do during the holidays considering that Passover is coming up on Saturday night for me. Each day until next Tuesday I have to go to synagogue to pray for 3 hours, very time consuming. The thing that I find will be the hardest about this Passover is the regulations for covid because I can't celebrate this holiday with my whole family. I won't be able to sit at a table together with them and eat the special food of Passover or say the prayers with them. It's gonna be my first Passover without my cousins, grandparents and uncles and aunts. The main aspect of Passover is the 2 weeks without bread and we have to eat matzah(solid plain uncooked hard bread) every day for the morning and the evening and afternoon. the true reason that I am kinda urging for Passover to start is for the search of the Afficomen(half of matzah hidden in house) the one who finds it gets a prize at the end and last time it was my sis and my little brother who one and I lost so i need to get my winning streak back.
ReplyDeleteCovid has been hard enough as it is for all of us, but the further we get into the year the more Mr.Legault is proving to be an idiot. He has either made the wrong decision or the right one too late or too early. I dont understand his thought process whatsoever. He said in the same announcement that he's scared about a third wave and the new variants and then announces that we will all be back full time. I dont think that is a good idea, some of these classes have like 30-35 kids in them, not enough room to stay 6 feet apart. With the heat and the masks it is not going to be fun nor safe. But the thing that I'm trying hard to comprehend is why he did it in the first place, there has been zero problems with the one day at home one day at school idea so why is he changing this 2 months before school ends?
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, Legault has made a horrible decision. Great blog!
DeleteI am honestly really disappointed in our government and Francois Legault himself. I think that the remerging of classes in high schools is the worst decision he could have ever took. Ever desk in each class are a lot less than 2 meters apart, then add in almost 30 kids in every class. Unless he wants Quebec to be number 1 in something in this world, a.k.a number of cases in one single city, these mesures should not have been taken. When the classes were split up into Group A and B, the number of cases started to settle and things started to look up that this summer would get back to normal. Now with the classes merging, I feel that things will get worse once again and we will have to start back from square one.
ReplyDeleteI would like to take this opportunity to express how I feel about people's comments on blogs. I believe we need to put more time and effort in giving our feedback on other blogs because it's disappointing. The only times I've ever seen people comment something interesting is when they disagree with the other person, and this doesn't happen often. I'm not saying we have to write a whole paragraph, but at least spice it up a little bit. For example, instead of saying "Great blog," we could say something like "What a well-written blog," or "Your writing skills have come a long way since the beginning of the year." If none of these suit your preferences, then we could just write about a controversial topic that will be sure to stir up an argument. Mr. Katz seems to love making us write about these, anyways.

DeleteWhat a very well written blog Mr.Klor, I hope people may learn from this and put it into action, good day
DeleteI want to write about how I hate that they're merging the groups back together. We only have 3 months left of school and I dont see the point at all, plus with the new variant going on it would make even more sense to stay split up until next year. I really like having a full day to do my homework instead of having to do it when I get home from school. I also want to talk about how now that we've been a smaller group for a while, that a classroom of 30 students is way too much in my opinion, wether theres covid or not. I feel like moving forward all the classes should have less students.
ReplyDeleteYeah I like it when we have a full day to do homework. Great blog!
DeleteI agree, we shouldn't merge
DeleteI would like to talk about something I saw on the internet a couple of days ago, and that is the extinction of dinosaurs. I've always thought that they have died from volcanism, but the scientists had proven that the main reason for their extinction was actually climate change, starvation, and their body structure. One of the theories is their bodies are too big to be operated by their small brains, which caused their death. Another theory on why their population was reduced is that some small mammals eat dinosaur eggs in order to survive since there weren't many animals or plants back then. Unfortunately, no one knows what really happened to the dinosaurs, they are all just theories, no proof.
ReplyDeleteFor my free blog, I will be talking about if I think that sports should resume or not. I think that we should wait because Covid is just going to get worse and we're going to repeat what happened last year. Even though it is really boring without sports, I think that it will cause too many cases. I think that we should resume sports when everyone gets the vaccine and if we put safety measures. I really hope that sports will resume soon and that Covid will end.
ReplyDeleteI remember being so hyped about growing up, when I was a little kid, I was excited about all the things like having girlfriends, and having big muscles, and shaving and playing big hockey, and I once told my cousin that I couldn't wait until I was fifteen years old, when I would have all these things, and more. My cousins answer was this ''you're ten years now, wishing you were fifteen, when you're fifteen you'll be wishing you're twenty, and by the time you're thirty, you'll be wishing back to when you were younger''. Now of course I don't know the full truth of it, because I've only fulfilled one part of the adventure described, but so far it has been true. She also told me that if i don't live in my moment, I'll never get to live my life, because I'll always be dreaming about the future rather than living in the present. This conversation only just occurred to me recently, because I realized that little ten year old me had been looking forward to probably the most boring years of fifteen year old me's life. Back when I had that conversation, I thought nothing of it, after all, I was ten, she was a girl, so it had to be different for me right? I now realize the ignorance with which I treated the situation, and I feel that the pandemic has taught me yet another life long lesson or two, I have learned that I must live my life outside of the dream, I have learned that keeping my head down, and experience things for myself rather than thinking what could have happened if I had done something. In doing so I have helped myself to become what I have always wanted myself to be. I always had the dreams, I just had to make them come true.
