It's March Break - (WOOHOO!)

Tell me about your BEST/WORST March break.

Explain.

Comments

  1. My worst March break was last year, when I went to a cottage Up North with my family and my cousins. I have 3 cousins and they're all very energetic, so we had a lot of fun the first couple days. The third day, however, was not enjoyable at all. I remember my cousins saying that a few weeks ago they had the stomach flu. The stomach flu is very contagious and apparently stays with you after you've had it for a couple weeks. We were spending every minute of every day with our cousins, and eventually, I caught it. I was the first out of the family to have it. I spent all of my days in bed sleeping and missing out on all of the fun. A few days after me, my sister and my dad got it but somehow, my mom never did. For the rest of the week, we only ate soup and were in bed all day, and my cousins ended up leaving.

  2. One of my favourite march breaks was when my family and I went to Cuba with my grandparents. We ended up staying for 2 weeks and it was so much fun! We went swimming everyday, either on the beach or the pool. There was also a game room setup in front of our hotel and we ended up making new friends! Also one day, my grandpa and I took a boat ride far out and we ended up seeing a huge barracuda. Finally, my favourite part of the trip was the last day. The water was super shallow and clear and we ended up swimming so far out to the point where there were coral reefs! All the fish were colourful and it was beautiful.

    3. Swimming in Cuba is the best! Especially if you got to stay there for a long time.

  3. My best March break was in 2018 when my whole family went down to meet my mom’s extended family in California. It was my first time in California and I really enjoyed it. We explored the state and I saw the Golden Gate Bridge. My favorite part of the vacation was when we took a walk during sunset along the water. My worst March break would probably be this one because we can’t do much because of the virus and restrictions. We won’t be able to go on a trip or see people in a normal setting.

  4. My best March break was a year ago when COVID first started. I didn't leave the house all week but I barely slept because I was too busy gaming. I played for at least six hours each day, if not, more. I really had fun and spent a lot more time with my family as well which was really fun to do all week. Since we weren't able to hang out with friends, there wasn't much else to do except play video games until we fell asleep from the fatigue effect or radiation. It was the best week ever.

  5. My best march break was in 2018. My family had a lot of stuff planned that I was excited for. The week before March Break officially started I missed school because we travelled to Europe. It was really exciting because I love travelling, there weren't many tourists because it was March and tourists visit more often in summer. After I came back my mom gave me a late birthday gift which was tickets to a Travis Scott concert. I was really surprised she got me tickets in the front because she knew I was a fan for a really long time. I ended up going with my cousin and it was such an amazing night.

    1. That is not fair that you got to go to Europe, and then come back and have your march break days off.

    2. The Europe trip sounds really fun and the Travis Scott concert must have been really cool, good blog

  6. I do not really have a best or worst March Break. They are all pretty mundane, not exciting in the least. They weren't boring either, because I still played games, and my father's birthday is always in the march break, but otherwise, nothing special really happens in those days off. Sometimes we go to a public pool ( not anymore ), and the rest of the days would be like a weekend, sort of. I do not think this March break will be fun, even when almost everything is opening back up once more, because I won't be able to go to my favorite places without being paranoid.

  7. The best march break I had was in 2020 just before we got locked down. My friend and I did the same thing every day, it was super fun. We would meet up in the morning and go to the gym for around 1.5 hours. Then we went to a gym to play basketball. We played pick up games all day with a bunch of older people and it was super competitive. Then at night we would go to Riverdale and play more basketball. We did this every day, even on the weekends. I really enjoyed this week because I met a bunch of people and I had a great time. The worst march break will be this one coming up for sure. Can’t play basketball, I can barely do anything that I like to do because of covid.

  8. I don't really have any best or worst march break. They're all pretty similar. Generally I stay at home and just play video games for a week. It's just like a really long, homework free weekend. Sometimes my family and I go on some sort of small vacation skiing or something, but mostly it's all the same. I do really enjoy march break though. It's probably one of my favorite holidays, because I don't have it celebrate anything and it gives me a really long break.

  9. My best march break was when we went to New York for a few days. Although we didn't stay in new york for long it was truly a memorable experience. At the time it had been my second time visiting that area so I had already seen and been to some of the shops in time square. While we were there we saw two musicals, Mean Girls and Beetlejuice, they were both very good and I really appreciate the set design of Beetlejuice and all the small details hidden around the set.

  10. My worst March break was 2 years ago up North. It was my whole family excluding my oldest brother. We went on a trip to ski, so we rented an Airbnb. It was small, but we didn't' mind cuz we were going to be skiing the whole time with these tickets we won from a raffle. When we got to the "chalet", it was less of a chalet and more of a basement with a curtain dividing my family and I from Sylvain and Marie, the Airbnb owners. One night they even came downstairs and told us to be more quiet because it was late at night, we were watching tv at 8 o-clock... That wasn't the worst part, when we went to the ski hill the ticket stamper told us our tickets were invalid because we weren't the owners of them. We couldn't go skiing since we couldn't even buy tickets since it was fully booked. So we ended up spending a week in Sylvain and Marie's over crowded basement.

  11. My best March Break was when I was I think 8. We stayed at my cottage in Morin-Heights and went skiing there as well everyday all day. It was very hot everyday and we all went in sweatshirts. I had the time of my life, as I was with my family and we did a lot of skiing. It was very sunny and few people, which was the best weather for skiing. Every-night, when we would get home, we would always watch a comedy movie while eating fondu, which is one of my favorite meals.

  12. My favourite March break so far was when I went away on vacation to a resort in Cancun. I went with my mom, my step dad and and sister. We ended up making plans with close family friends to go together. A week before I found out that one of my best friends Tanis was also going to be there. Once we got there I spent the full week with them and we went sailing swimming and went jumping off the pear. The seven day were so much and we were planning on doing it again but Covid happened.

  13. I think my best march break was when I went to mexico 2 years ago. It was the first time we went on vacation during march break because we usually spend our time relaxing at home. We spent our time mostly on the beach and swimming in the ocean. We also spent our night playing cards and eating out. We also went to a concert where everyone took turns signing and dancing on stage. It was all a lot of fun and the hotel room was huge too. It was one of the best march breaks that I had in a long time.

  14. My worst march break was a couple of years ago when we went to Miami Florida. I got sick with strep throat the second day there. So I was sick for the whole first week of the trip. The second week was better, although my mom did mistakenly give me a margarita with beer in it and I got slightly drunk. We drove up to Orlando to visit Disney world but it was raining and we spent the whole time wondering through stores. Of course no one brought jackets so we were all freezing and my dad was grumpy the whole time because all he wanted to do was golf. Then when we got back to our resort there had been a stomach flu infestation so we had to pack up all of our stuff and move to another resort.

  15. I've had a lot if great march breaks over the years, but one of my favourites was last year. I missed the last week of school before march break and i went to costa rica with my family for 2 weeks. It was amazing, we saw so many crazy places, like the inside of a volcano. we also stayed at 4 different places, and they we're really cool. the whole trip was pretty amazing, i had so much fun and i met some great people there too. im really glad we went on this trip because 4 days after we got back the lockdown started so it was nice to been somewhere, since i havent left here for almost a year now.

  16. For me, all March Breaks have been the same for me. My family doesn't go on vacation during March Break on we go on vacation during winter as there is more time to do activities. The best march break I had was probably in elementary where me and my friends would just go out, have some fun, have sleepovers and game all night. The worst march break however was a long time a go, but the power went out for like 2 days, and we were so mad, because we did nothing over those 2. I wish I can get the time back of those 2 days of march break, but it is what it is. In my opinion, breaks should be around 2 weeks so that we can have all the time for vacations.

  17. I've never really done anything for march break and I don't think that's going to change any time soon normally I just stay at home playing videogames and that's about it. To be honest though I never really saw a point in doing anything for march break because it's only a week long. It's short enough that there's no real point going anywhere extravagant at least in my eyes but on the other hand it's not so short that you feel like it fly's by leaving people like me questioning what they should do for the next week.

  18. My best March Break had to be around 4 years ago when I went on a cruise. It was called the Carnival Sunshine and had everything. It had a whole water park on the deck, a basketball court, and a huge pool. This was the only time I ever went on a vacation during March Break. My dad worked for an airline company so we were able to get a huge discount on it, so we decided to go for it. It was a five-day vacation where we had three full days on the boat. At night, they even had a huge screen on the deck and everyone was able to watch a late-night movie. The best show, however, was the dolphins that trailed for around a day. I had never seen dolphins before, let alone in the wild. That was one of my favorite vacations ever, and my favorite March Break.

  19. The best march break must have been grade 7 because I was at mont tremblant with a friend skiing downhill. We made cakes, had beavertails and a lot of friends since the break was the same week both in Quebec and ontario. we had a ton of fun.
The worst march break was last year's because it was my first time skiing without my opa. :(

  20. My march break is usually never eventful and I usually just chill and do nothing, which is fantastic, so I don't really remember any of my march breaks except for the one last year. My friends mom offered us a simple minimum wage job where we would take staples out of files to be scanned. It sounds boring, but it was nice because I had two other friends there and we could just listen to music and youtube while we did it. And I didn't work the whole day so i still had the afternoon to do stuff. It was fun because I got to make a bit of money, also my friends were there. That part was cool too I guess.

  21. My best march break was when we went to New York City for the first time. I have always wanted to visit there, so I was really excited when my mom told me that we were going to New York City during march break. We didn't stay there for too long, but we managed to visit a lot of places. In the morning, we took the ferry to watch the Statue of Liberty. After, we went to the Empire State Building, and it was depressing with what happened on 9/11, 2001. Finally, we spent the night in Times Square visiting the wax museum while shopping and eating. Overall, it was an amazing trip.

  22. My best March break was when I was out of town, it was my dads cousins wedding and we were invited to go to Toronto. It was my first experience in Toronto as a matter of fact . We also stayed at hotel, it was so much fun because I finally i had my own bed and I didn't have to share one with my siblings. We got to explore the city of Toronto, see some sites and we even got to see Medieval Times which was a very exciting experience. I got to see a real life joust like they did in those times, there was a story line but I really didn't pay attention to it I was caught by the flashing sparks of fire emitted from the clashes of the swords. Finally it was the wedding, it took place at night so everything was lit up so bright, it was like a nightclub except more extravagant. It was an event to be remembered, it was a very fun experience and the first of many for me especially since i didn't even know I had second cousins. We prepared to go home and said our goodbyes, looking back at the cities while we were heading home I knew i would return again.
