Last week, GameStop saw a HUGE rise in their stocks.
This is due to the increase of VIDEO GAME purchases and playing over the course of the year.
Do you like playing VIDEO GAMES?
What are your favourite VIDEO GAMES?
Once the pandemic ends, do you think VIDEO GAMES will remain POPULAR?
Explain.
I absolutely love playing video games. I find that video games are very relaxing at times and is can be very educational and makes you really use the strategy side of your mind. My favourite video games is 100% Assassin's Creed collection, more specifically Assassin's Creed Ezio's Collection. Assassin's Creed has been my favourite game since I got my first Assassin's Creed game. I find there is the perfect mix of RNG, strategy and an amazing story to top the game off to perfection. I think that once the pandemic ends, video games will still remain very popular, but people would probably play less video games because we would be able to go outside and enjoy the outside world.
ReplyDeleteI love strategy to,I've played Call of War which is like a game where you're a country and your goal is to make alliances between other countrys, growing your economy, military power and world domination.
DeleteI agree, people will want to go outside more. great blog!
DeletePlay Titanfall 2.
DeleteI agree people will want to explore the outside world and not play as much video games. Nice blog!
DeleteI also like when video games are educational and strategic. Great blog!
DeleteI love playing video games. Most of the games I play at home require strategy and chance. Over the month my interest in video games increased because of my over excessive addiction towards gambling especially Texas holdem poker. I've also played some among us which requires teamwork and attention to identify the imposter. I also have been playing shell shockers which I haven't played in a long time and I wanted to see where I was at with my gaming skills. Video Games have always been a favourite in society, during the pandemic they increase exponentially because of our restrictions on socialising.
ReplyDeleteI honestly prefer blackjack but Texas hold'em is so much fun too. Great blog!

DeleteI personally am not interested in video games. I don't play any videos games and never got into it because none of my friends are really interested in that stuff. I think some video games are cool because they're always really well made and the settings looks like fun. During the pandemic, video games became much more popular because it's something that can be very addicting. Once the pandemic ends, I think the popularity of video games will go down slightly because people are going to want to go outside and experience things they couldn't do during the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Same I don't really play any video games but they seem fun.
DeletePlay Titanfall 2.
DeleteI don't really play any video games myself. Some video games look like fun though. I think that video games have been so popular during the pandemic because they are a good way to use time. Video games also seem like a good distraction, so that's another reason why I think that they are more popular during Covid. Once the pandemic ends, I think that the popularity of video games will decrease slightly because we will have less time on our hands, but will still remain popular.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the use will probably go down once the pandemic ends.

DeleteI am not a huge fan of video games although from time to time I enjoy running people over in gta. My dad plays call of duty every Friday night with his friends and its really annoying so that's where I lost a lot of interest. I also don't find them that fun and I find other activities more entertaining. Due to the pandemic people have been home a lot more so video games were played a lot more as a form of internment, but after the pandemic I think the use in video games might go down a bit because people will be able to see their friends and go out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I find other things to be more interesting than video games too
DeleteYes running over people is fun. It's fun to do it in gta as well.
DeleteI'm not a big fan of video games either.
DeletePlay Titanfall 2.
DeletePersonally I have never really play or have been a huge fan of video games. My favorite video game is WE sports. I remember when I was younger my sister and I used to spend all our time indoors playing it. Our favourite game was tennis. I think videos games will always remain popular but once this pandemic is over and everything comes back to normal I think they will be less popular. People will want to socialize and will want to go out and spend time with their friends because they wont be forced to stay inside.
ReplyDeletePlay Titanfall 2.
Deletei used to love playing that one, great blog!
DeletePersonally, I have never been a fan of video games. I just didn't really get the point in them. I mean, people say they play them because they are fun, but everytime I see someone play any type of video game, they look like they are going to punch a hole in the wall. I'm pretty sure video games are still going to remain popular because they were popular before the pandemic, people just didn't have enough time to play as much of them.
ReplyDeleteI agree, video games will always remain popular, but will be played less when the pandemic is over. Great Blog!
DeleteThey seem like they do get people frustrated. Great blog!

DeleteI love playing video games.I believe that video games could be relaxing, depending on the game. Its also a way to be able to play with fiends, as in these times, we cannot see them. My favorite video game is probably Grand Theft Auto V. I play with my friends, and we played this game a lot over the pandemic. Although the meaning of this game is to steal, kill and become rich by selling drugs and stolen cars, I love the game, because I have to work for what I want, kind of based off of real life. I believe Video Games will always stay popular, as it is a way to enter a diverse universe, and get to be whatever you want. Even though they will be less played, because when the pandemic will be over and people will be outside, they will always be popular.
ReplyDeleteI agree, video games will always be popular no matter what. good blog

DeleteI’ve never really liked video games. My brother likes them and I’ve played a couple of games of FIFA and NHL with him but I’ve never really been interested in them. During the pandemic I think video games were a great distraction for people who like them. Video games were popular before the pandemic and I think they will always be. I do believe however that their popularity will go down a little because when things go back to normal people will be going outside again and socializing.
ReplyDeleteI agree, video games can be used as a good distraction. Great blog!
DeleteI agree, Great Blog!

DeleteI also think that the popularity of video games will go down a little when the pandemic has ended. Great blog!
DeleteI like playing video games a lot because I find them really entertaining with either good gameplay, story or how well you can play with friends. I think it's a fun way to hang out with friends and just have a good time. But sadly I never had a console. I had a used xbox 360 once, but that broke. So I got my appreciation for video games from going to my friends house and playing with them. I do have a crappy computer that can barely run minecraft though. So thats fun. I honestly don't know what my favourite game would be if I could play them because they are so varied and different. But the games I have enjoyed with friends have been halo, c.o.d, super smash bros and minecraft. I think once the pandemic ends that there will definetly be a drop in playing games, unless youre someone who never sees the sun and stays inside. But I think they will still remain popular because people have always been playing them and it's always going to be entertaining and offer somethings that reality doesn't.

DeleteVideo games have always been popular at least to my belief and I don't see that changing any time soon. I think that the reason so many more people started playing video games is cause they had more time on their hands. Since most people view video games as a pass time and not an activity for the day they won't sit down and play for 8 hours. I've personally always enjoyed playing video games and continue to play them every day. I think that if I'd have to say my favorite video game is Tom Clancy's rainbow six siege because of the amount of time I have spent on it and how often I play the game. I do think that video games will remain popular after the pandemic ends because if you first started playing now there's good odds you won't stop any time soon.
ReplyDeleteI agree that video games are still going to be popular. Great blog!
DeletePlay Titanfall 2.
DeleteI don't mind playing video games. Most of the time, I only play with my cousins and siblings. My favourite video games I've played are minecraft, wii sports and super smash bro's. I like how minecraft is all about imagination and creativity and you can build and do whatever you want. Wii sports and Super smash bro's is also really fun when I play with my cousins because we get super competitive and it brings us closer together. I still think video games will always be popular even after the pandemic ends.
ReplyDeletePlay Titanfall 2.
DeletePersonally, I don’t play a lot of video games. When there wasn't a pandemic, I used to play video games with my friends from Ottawa whenever they came over. My favourite video game would most likely be gta, because you can do whatever you want in it. I love stealing cars and then customizing them. I also really enjoy playing minecraft because I love the creative aspect to it. I think that video games will still be very popular when this pandemic ends, but maybe less than before because people are able to get out more.
ReplyDeletePlay Titanfall 2.
DeleteI like playing video games, I play most of the time just to be in a party with my friends but sometimes I play alone. My favorite video game of all time is NBA2k. I have had every 2k game since NBA2k15. It was always fun but After NBA2k17 the rest of them got worse and worse. I stopped playing NBA2k20 in the summer and am not planning on buying any of the next 2k games to come out. It's just not fun anymore and you have to spend hundreds of dollars just to get a really good player and I’m done with that. Now I play games like Rainbow six siege and rocket league. Once the pandemic is over video games will still be popular but kids will want to do other things like hang out with friends, go on vacation and just be outside.
ReplyDeleteI agree, continue the grind on R6 and Rocket League. Great blog!

ReplyDeleteI would say I definitely like playing video games, there a big part of my life whether I like or not. Whenever I have free time it comes to mind right away which I'm not proud of. My favorite video game currently is Rocket League, which is essentially cars playing soccer. I think that once the pandemic ends video games will still be popular, I believe a lot of people have been exposed to them and after the pandemic will still enjoy playing them every once in a while.
Play Titanfall 2.
DeleteI have always liked video games, they are a great waste of time, and I grew up with games such as NHL SlapShot, and mario kart on Wii. Nowadays I play games such as Call Of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege, NHL, and Assassins creed. I love these games and play them quite often. Although these are not my favourites. My favourite game is Rocket League right now, and it gives me great pain to admit that I am somewhat close to addiction. Of course, I would rather eat dirt over becoming a pro gamer, but I have still been spending around 5-8 hours on the game daily, which, before the pandemic I would have considered to be sad. The reason why I love Rocket League, is because I am actually good at it, unlike most games, and since there is no hockey, which is the literal love of my life, I must resort to another activity which gives me pleasure, which is Rocket League. I strongly believe that video games will stay popular, because they have always been popular, and therefore there is no reason to suddenly become unpopular.

DeletePlaying video games are a huge part of my life, and have been ever since, like, 2014, when we got our first home computer, that we still have today. It isn't very good, and the fan is very loud. Plus, it can barely run any games. I grew up mostly playing Minecraft before 1.7, and Roblox. Otherwise, I didn't really play games until my family got our xbox 360. Then I played games like Halo, Assassin's creed, Minecraft ( again ), Destiny, Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, etc. Finally, with our xbox one, I play Minecraft, Titanfall 2, Halo, Cuisine Royale, The Culling, etc. These are by far my favorite of them all, though. When the pandemic ends, people will still continue to play video games. They were very popular since before the pandemic, but people were looking for different sources of entertainment than the TV, so they bought consoles or PCs. They may have been getting even more popular, but they always were, so people aren't going to just drop them once the pandemic ends.
ReplyDeletePlay uncharted.
DeleteI love playing video games. I spend a lot of my free time playing on my ps4.Some of my favorite games include the uncharted series, assassins creed, rainbow six siege, call of duty etc... Video games have always been popular, the pandemic just made them more played. I think one of the big reasons GameStop made so much money is because people who already played video games had more time to play video games. Just because the pandemic stops I don't think much will change with video games.
ReplyDeleteI love video games and I play them more than I probably should. Unfortunately most of my friends don't play videogames much or they don't play the same ones I do, mostly play on my nintendo switch and PC. My favorite video game is Hollow Knight, which is a single player metroidvania style game. I really like the art style and exploring and discovering new things in the world. I also play a lot of nintendo games like Pokémon, Zelda: Breath of the wild, Animal crossing and more. I do think video games will stay popular because they have always been popular, maybe the amount of time people spend on them will decrease but I don't think they will ever be unpopular.
ReplyDeleteI play a dragon game on an ipad (i forget the name), and animal jam(also on the ipad). i also play Fall guys. I love all of these games the same amount. I think video games will always be popular but maybe a bit less popular after the pandemic because we will be able to do more stuff.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I personally also believe that video games will never die down. Great blog!
DeletePersonally I grew up playing video games. My brother has always loved them so he shared his love for video games with me. I always thought video games were already super popular and everyone played them. My favourite games have to be COD cold war, Minecraft and of course rocket league. I mostly enjoy video games because it brings you and your friends closer together. What I love the most is seeing how good I've gotten at some games since I purchased them.
ReplyDeletei rarely ever play video games just because growing up I wasn't allowed too and now I'm not really interested. but if I go over to a friends house and they have video games i usually attempt to play but I just dont like it that much and i'm really bad too. I just find that they're really stressful and there's too much going on at once, I also find that people get too crazy playing. I think that video games will still be popular even after covid is over just because they were already popular before, obviously a lot of people won't be playing as much since they're going to have other stuff they have to do or want to do.
ReplyDeleteI agree that video games will still be popular after the pandemic. Great blog!
DeleteI'm not a huge fan of video games. I only got into it during the quarantine. I found it's a fun way to spend time when you are bored. I like playing Minecraft. There are not many rules, so you can use your imagination and do whatever you want. A game that I played recently is Among Us since my friends are all playing it. It's a murder mystery game where you have to solve who the impostor is. I think video games will still remain popular after the pandemic. Even though there might be a drop, but it will get back up pretty soon.
ReplyDeleteI love playing video games, and I play for two reasons. One is to relax after a long day, and two is to be able to play with my friends who I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise. The second reason has become more important due to the virus and that made me think about how I would've stayed in contact with my friends without video games. I don't really think I have a favorite video game, it really just depends on my mood. If I'm looking for something casual, I might play Rocket League or Assassin's Creed, whereas if I'm looking for something competitive and intense I might play Rainbow Six Siege. When the pandemic ends, I think video games will be even more popular than before because of all the people who have been introduced to it over the past year or so.
ReplyDeleteVideo games are my favorite thing to play when I am bored and I play a bunch of games. Video games have been my type of entertainment since I was like 4, where I would always watch my brother play games and he would teach me how to play. Me and my brother played video games all the time and back when we were younger, we played with each other a lot. I play mainly competitive and esports like games such as Rainbow Six Siege and League of Legends. I also play Minecraft but in a different way than others where me and my friends play minigames. Sometimes if I am looking for a more casual game then I would play Brawlhalla with my friends. It really depends on my friends on what I would play because I only have fun playing video games with my friends. I believe video games will die out if people didn’t like them and only really played them for killing time. But the people who discovered video games and enjoy them would probably be attached to them so it really depends on the newcomers of video games to see if video games will still remain popular as they are right now.
ReplyDeleteLeague of Legends is a really fun game, I also play it. You play a lot of video games!
DeletePersonally I don't really play video games, but I used to go play FIFA and Rocket League at my cousins house almost every day. Now I normally just play little fun online games to pass the time instead of downloading stuff. I have asked my parents for a Ps4 or Ps5 so hopefully in the future ill get one! I sometimes play Minecraft too as that game is a classic. Hopefully if I get the Ps4 or Ps5 ill be able to play more games in the future.
ReplyDeleteI do not play video games. I think I used to play video games when i was younger but i never really got into it. I think video games got more popular during the pandemic because it's one of the few things people can actually do while staying inside and safe. After the pandemic ends I think they will remain popular but people will play them a bit less because they'll probably want to be outside or doing stuff they can not be doing now.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy playing video games a lot and I will never stop playing them ever. I spend more time playing video games than the average person of course, since the pandemic started I have picked up some new games that I had time to practice and get good at. I like playing Call of Duty, Fornite, Starcraft, League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra and many more games. I switch between games every now and then, but during this pandemic, I played some games a lot more than others such as, League of Legends, Starcraft and Fortnite. I think video games will remain popular because so many people spent so much time playing them, that they won't just stop after getting really good at them, if anything, it will make them play more after the pandemic ends. In my opinion, video games will never die.
