Welcome back to school!

Hockey season is BACK and the Montreal Canadiens are ready to roll.
Throughout the pandemic, SPORTS have helped keep me SANE!

Are you a fan of hockey? Are you a sports fan?

What sort of activities have helped you stay SANE throughout this crazy YEAR!

Explain.

Comments

  1. My family and I don’t really watch sports, except my dad who watches cricket sometimes, but other than that, I don’t watch sports. I’m not really a sports fan as my family never got into it, so neither did I. Some activities that kept me sane was watching YouTube the entire time, and playing some games. I also did a lot of cooking with my mom. I learned a lot of stuff about cooking and I was usually always sane. Playing games with my friends was also quite amusing, and it was probably better than watching sports in my opinion. I don’t find watching sports that amusing, only with friends is probably entertaining.

    2. Ya most of the time I was playing soccer with my friends in the park in front of me. Spending time outside is what refreshed me the most during the pandemic.

    3. I always wanted to learn cricket, and I also cooked more with my family. Great Blog!

  2. I wouldn’t say that I’m a huge hockey fan, but I watch it sometimes with my family. I like watching sports, but some of them are boring to watch and have too many advertisements. I think that playing outside has helped keep me sane. In the summer I was outside pretty much every day babysitting my neighbours. In the winter, I try and get outside as much as I can to skate on the rink near my house. I also go skiing with my dad and my sister. Another activity that kept me occupied this year was playing guitar and piano.

  3. I really like to watch hockey especially these days. We are not aloud to play any sports so watching them helps me keep the sport mentality in my head. I love watching all sports. I have recently starting watching the men and women alpine racing. The only activity that is keeping me sane is skiing. I go skiing every weekend or any time I have the chance. There tends to be a lot of people on the hill because there is nothing else to do.

  4. Yes I've always been a fan of hockey, I practically grew up watching the Canadiens all though I always go for Tampa. I love watching all sports, it gives me lots of adrenaline and sometimes, I feel like I'm actually in the game. Some activities that have helped me stay sane throughout the crazy year was working out, playing hockey, dancing even though I'm terrible at it and much more. Thankfully this year, my family and I build a rink in our backyard so we can still play hockey.

  5. I am a fan of hockey, for sure not as much as others, but I am still. I usually watch with my cousins, as they are very big hockey fans compared to our family, as we do not watch that much. One activity that kept me sane was skiing, as I went everyday it was open, from 8am to about 10pm with my friends. Other activities that kept me sane was video games, watching YouTube, shows and movies, and baking. Many things that I did were with my friends, so even though I did not see them in person, but I did play with them a lot.

  6. I am not really a fan of watching any sports, never have but there is one thing that kept me sane throughout the pandemic and that's music. Now I know that your gonna start thinking like some sort of fairy-tale believer I am but I am truly not lying. Throughout the pandemic I've really found my type of music and bonded with it, from Yesterday by the Beatles to Thunderstruck by ac/dc that's how much I have gotten into rock. The one song that I am pinned to right now is called Smooth by Robert Thomas and Santana which some reason got me jamming to it. I can go on and on of my favourite music but I think truly that is the only thing that kept me sane this whole time.

    1. Alright! Finally, someone who listens to Santana. Great blog, Alon!

  7. I know many people who are crazy sports fanatics, but I can't say that I'm one of them. The sport I watch the most is tennis, and a lot of people say it's boring to watch tennis but that's only because they don't understand the mental aspect of the game. Tennis is a game where half of it is going on in the mind's of the players, and as someone who has played tennis for many years, I am able to see that whereas most people can't. Throughout the pandemic, I must say that staying sane was very hard, but there were a few activities that helped a lot. The two most important ones were tennis and guitar. In the summer time, we were allowed to play tennis and that was a relief because it allowed me to use all of the built up energy of staying at home. I was also able to see a few of my friends and that was fun too. My guitar, however, also helped me. During quarantine, I decided to build my own guitar because my grandfather has a ton of parts that I can use. This helped me stay busy and forget about quarantine for a little while. My guitar also helped me because I feel a lot better when I play it. This quarantine I was focusing more on spanish guitar and songs by Carlos Santana, who is probably my favorite guitarist. These are just some of the things that helped me through quarantine.

  8. I am a hockey fan. I like to watch hockey for fun, and I love to play it, I am a goalie. My family and I watch hockey all the time. I don't really watch any other sports very often, but it is fun to watch other sports sometimes. I find it much more enjoyable playing other sports than watching them like soccer and football. An activity I have done during Covid is going to the outdoor rink and playing hockey, but sadly the rinks are closed.

    1. Personally I can't consider myself a huge hockey fan, but if its on ill definitely watch it and get into the sport. For instance I used to watch the World Juniors when they were on. Personally when it comes to tv I skip straight away to the tennis, track or basketball section if i'm looking to watch sports. The one thing that kept me sane during quarantine was Athletics. During summer quarantine, we got super lucky and were aloud to go to a outdoor track, but in winter, we had the gym for a while but then Legault put on another lockdown. After that I started to learn how to play guitar and up until now I'm really enjoying it and learning how to play some songs by Bruce Springsteen.

  10. A lot of my family especially on my dads side are really into sports, i can watch a few hockey games now and then but i've never really enjoyed it much. I used to really like watching basketball but these days i don't really play many sports. Throughout the pandemic i started a few hobbies, i tried learning a few chords on the guitar but i didn't spend much time on it and never really got far with it, i mostly just binged anime to keep me from going insane but i also learned how to sew, i follow patterns that i find online and make clothes and i love it, it's one of my favourite things to do because i can take old clothes and make them newer again.

  11. Personally I enjoy watching the sport of hockey and like the culture it brings to Canada, but I don't LOVE playing it. In general I am a sports fan, my two favorite are basketball and rugby. Rugby is my favorite to play because I find that rugby players are generally not annoying and I easily get along with them. I also like to play basketball except not competitively anymore because I find it's not as fun as playing street basketball in a park, where there's no rules and every bodies there to have a good time, and not trying to make it into the NBA. Activities that helped me stay sane through 2020 are listening to music, walking my dog, playing video games, playing games and sports with my family, I also started cooking, and at the same time discovered I hate baking.

  12. My family doesn't really watch hockey sometimes we watch the premier league which is soccer or basketball games. Throughout this year i've been practicing ballet from home since I have a dance studio in my basement. My parents bought more equipment for our home gym so i've been staying active and healthy that way. Exercising is my favourite hobby that doesn't make me go insane. It's very good for you and it's helped me improve so much in dance, for example I stretch everyday for around an hour and a half and my flexibility has improved so much.

  13. Personally, I'm not a big fan of hockey, but I am a fan of other sports. During covid, my cable hasn't been available, so we haven't been able to watch any sports. It's ironic how the one time my cable doesn't work, it's the one time I really need it. In my spare time (or what kept me sane) was reading. I have been reading a lot and have been doing art and watching movies. I have completed many tv shows and now I can't find anything to watch. These are the things that have kept me sane. Without these, I think covid would have definitely gotten to me.

  14. im not really a sports fan although my dad is a huge soccer fan so sometimes i'll watch a few games but its not really my thing and i never understand whats going on. i think that some things that have helped me keep sane this year during covid are just being around people, listening to music, watching netflix and going outside, either on a bike ride or a walk or just sitting at the park, anything to get out of my house for a bit.

  15. I am not a hockey fan nor am I sports fan. My dad and brother like watching hockey and soccer but I have never been interested enough to watch with them. I’ve seen bits and pieces of games but I’ve never watched a whole game. I prefer watching movies or tv shows. To get myself through this year I made a lot of paintings and puzzles. This helped me pass the time. Cooking also kept me sane. I was constantly trying new recipes, some came out better than others.

  16. I'm not really a hockey fan, and the only sport I can think of that I actually enjoy watching is football. I haven't been able to play much this year, but I'm really hoping that I'll get a chance to play more next year. The thing that's kept me sane in lockdown is video games. I think I've played more this year than I have in the rest of my entire life, it's actually been pretty fun. Honestly, if I didn't have these games I think that lockdown would have driven me insane. There would be nothing to do ever, it would suck.

  17. I've never been a fan of watching sports to be honest but what I do enjoy doing is playing video games and exercising. I've always played videogames as pass time so it was nothing new but what is new is that I've been trying to exercise at least four times a week which I think has helped me mentally.

  18. Ive never really been a hockey fan, but that's probably just because ive never actually played. However I do enjoy playing sports. Even if I dont watch them, I think it is very fun to play them. The thing has has kept me the most occupied during the pandemic would be reddit, youtube or just watching movies or shows. The pandemic wasnt the most difficult thing because I got to just stay home which is always great.

  19. I’m a huge sports fan, I love staying up and watching them. I watch basketball the most but sometimes I watch hockey and football. When I watch sports, it takes my focus away from what's going on in the world. I use working out and cooking to keep me sane. My mom always tells me that I need to learn to cook because she doesn’t want anybody to have to take care of me. I enjoy cooking and I’m pretty good at it. Without sports, cooking and working out I would be going crazy.

  20. I am a major hockey fan, not so much all sports but mainly hockey. I even joined a hockey fantasy draft with a bunch of my friends and my brothers so I find myself watching a lot more hockey than normal. My favourite team is Edmonton Oilers because of McDavid of course. Some activities I have done throughout this year to help keep sane was playing a lot of video games and doing physical activity whenever I can. I used to play ice hockey in a league before COVID and so I haven't been doing that much physical activity but I try my best to keep up as if I was still playing. I also run on my treadmill at my dads house a lot to keep up my stamina, stay fit and also to be able to run faster.

  21. I'm not a fan of hockey and I don't like many sports. During quarantine the only thing keeping me sane was playing video games, I had gotten a few new ones for Christmas and have been playing them non stop as an escape from reality. When I was younger I never my parents never got me video games but I recently bought myself a video game console so during quarantine I was able to finally play all the games I missed out on when I was younger.

  22. I am personally not a hockey and not really a sports fan. I only watch football when my dad is watching it. Some activities that kept me sane most of the time are walking in terra cotta and sunnyside hill and singing.

  23. I am not a fan of hockey and, I've never watched a single hockey game. I wouldn't say that I am a huge sports fan but, I do enjoy watching them sometimes. Throughout the pandemic, the activities that prevented me from going insane were watching movies and listening to music. I found them very entertaining and relaxing. I feel like I can actually learn something new or discover things that I didn't know before from movies. They can also motivate people and make you want to have a higher expectation in life.

  24. I am a really big fan of hockey and a lot of sports for that matter. I have been playing hockey since I was very young and I have always loved to watch the NHL, the juniors and the Olympic hockey. Ever since I was young I have loved the Montreal Canadiens, but unfortunately I wasn't born early enough to see the amazing dynasty they had. Now Montreal is getting worse and worse every year but hopefully we could pull off a miracle and win a year. I am also a big fan of the NBA even though I suck at basketball. I love to watch it and I am a big fan of the Raptors and Nets. Throughout the Christmas break and all of quarantine, television has gotten me through it. I have watched so many different series' during quarantine that honestly saved me from going insane.

  25. I am not a fan at all of hockey. I don't pay attention when the sports channels are on, and they are never something that catch my interest, unless its some sort of really peculiar sport. I am not a very, sporty kind of person. Some people just don't understand them like others. I do, however, partake in certain sports. I am not the worst at badminton, and I used to take fencing classes, before the lockdown. Instead, the way I got exercise was from walking my dog, and helping my brother out with his personal project. We also took down the little playground we had set up in our backyard. Sad to see it go. But it took a lot of effort, and doing it in the heat of the sun did not help either. Another thing I did was going bicycling with my friend. We did wear masks, but it hurt, because trying to breathe while having something blocking your face is not very fun.

  26. I rather play sports then watch them but I do enjoy watching baseball and tennis with my dad, and we all have a big Super Bowl Sunday party so I watch that. I have never really liked hockey, my parents don't watch it and I don't understand it so I've never sat down and watched more then a couple of minutes. My dad and I really enjoy watching baseball together, although sometimes its boring its also quite exciting. I didn't really watch that many sports games in quarantine, I mainly went outside or stayed in my room. At the beginning most sports were shut down anyways so even if I wanted to nothing was playing.
