There are many ADVANTAGES when it comes to modern technology. One advantage is that connects people from all over the world.
However, it does have some major limitations. One limitation is that it could ALIENATE or ISOLATE an individual.
What are some advantages and limitations about technology for you?
What do you think the world will look like in 100 years as technology continues to advance?
Explain.
For me, technology is definitely a pro rather than a con, my reason being that it helps me to communicate with anybody that i want to talk to, and it helps me to understand trends and other things that i see in real life. Technology has only one downside which of course is cyber bullying, of course there are other cons, but it is the only one that I can see happening right now. In 100 years i don't think the world will have changed much in the sense that people will still be the same. technology will have come a long way of course, but only if we are not extinct by something like the corona virus.

DeleteI think that technologie is a great advantage today. We get to accomplish many different things today that we could have 50 years ago. Having technology allows us to have online learning, zoom, video games, movies, etc. The limitations to technologie (personally) is that I get freaked out that there are people out there that have the ability to hack into other people’s devices. They get to control anything/everything all through technology which includes: bank accounts, emails, subscriptions, etc. So even if there are some advantages that come from having technology, there are many things that can go wrong.
ReplyDeleteI think in 100 years from now, things will pretty much be the same, just more updated and evolved. There will be new cars, technologie, systems, etc. I think that everything will just be newer.

DeleteIn my opinion, the advantages of technology are that you can communicate with the world worldwide, it makes many things easier for you such as homework, searching up questions and so much more. Technology though isn't always good. For example cyber bullying and hacking into someones personal life can also happen to you. I think that technology will definitely be more advanced in 100 years. I don't know in which aspects but maybe we'll have robots doing most jobs for us. I just hope that it won't be too extreme..

DeleteI think one of the huge advantages of technology especially now is that it's any easy way to do your work. A huge positive is also that it doesn't create waste. I think that technology in 100 years will definitely be improved in many different ways but what makes me the most curious is how they' re going to power everything. For example if someone designs all the specs for a hover board you run into the issue of how to power it.

DeleteI think technology is a great advantage. Although technology is very helpful, it has also been very bad for our lives and health. First of all, technology is greater than ever during COVID as we can do everything online now. Technology makes us interact with each other without the need of physical contact. This includes shopping and online classes. Technology has also made us very lazy as we don’t do physical activities as much. This ruins our health and makes us fat and lazy. In 100 years, I believe technology is going to improve, but I don’t think that much due to people having no ideas.

DeleteTechnology can be very useful, but also harming. I think some advantages are that you can speak to people when you’re not with each other, it is a good way to pass time, it gives you enjoyment, it’s much easier to do school assignments and it’s an easy way to get information on basically anything. Some disadvantages are that you can be addicted to it so you get distracted easily and get lazy. Next, a lot of people have social media and can get addicted, so when they post pictures or videos, they get obsessed with the amount of likes and followers they have which is unhealthy. Finally, technology is really bad for mental health and many people get cyberbullied. In 100 years, I think that the world will have robots to do our work and that they will invent flying cars. I’ve also seen a video of someone who predicted that you will be able to rate how someone looks and the ratings will be above their head where everyone can see, which would be awful, but sadly I’m not surprised.

DeleteThere are a lot of advantages to modern technology, for example it is easy to communicate with people without having to see them. One big limitation with tecnologie though is that it is not accessible to all people, for example someone who doesn't have money to spend on that sort of thing will or people who live in different countries or continents will have different devices. So if someone were to move continents they would have difficulty adapting to the different technologie. I think technology would progress a lot in one hundred years, however I'm not sure if the world will still exist in one hundred years because humans are causing so much damage to it and nothing seems to be changing.

DeleteI think technology is a good advantage. It's easy to find resources and makes everything easier. People can work from home and all the assignments can be done online. But on the other hand, it isolates people from outside of the world. They can get addicted to what's going on on the media instead of what's happening around themselves. In 100 years, I think that technology probably will be improved. More apps and stuff will be created, and the technology might take over a lot of our works.

DeleteAs I am sure what everybody has answered, technology is basically a pro, although there are cons to it. Thanks to technology, it has helped us connect to the world, and basically made many things very easy. For example, I can FaceTime any relative during this virus without going to their house, potentially infecting them or be infected. Technology can bring many people together, but it can also isolate some people. One major con to technology that has afflicted many people is cyber bullying, or scams. Cyber-bullying is the act of in any way, harming someone on the internet, which is considered bullying. As well as scams have probably afflicted some people as well. Many people can scam you, because they want your money. In 100 years, I believe that technology will advance so much that life could become a more of a simulation, because basically everything we will know, will be something that relates to technology such as self driving cars, (or maybe even flying ones), computers that could do anything, etc... Even maybe all jobs will be online and everyone will just be at home always.

DeleteI find that technology is a huge advantage in our society. Technology is not just used for watching watching Netflix or looking up something online but it can actually save someones life. For example, a CT scan will be able to detect cancer. A disadvantage of technology is that it can cause anxiety and depression. In 100 years, I think the world will have changed completely. The world will no longer be powered by fossil fuels but actually hydro and electricity. There will also be drones flying around everywhere delivering packages instead of people.

DeleteFor me, technology is an amazing thing that helps a lot of people. We can communicate with people around the world, research science more efficiently, have access to a whole pool of knowledge in an instant and much more. Even if technology is fantastic, it does have some drawbacks. For example it puts your private out for anyone who is evil or willing enough to hack and take it. There's also things like cyber bullying and viruses that may cause you harm and as technology advances, new problems arise like global warming.
ReplyDeleteI think that technology will be very interesting in the future. The world will either look very different or pretty much the same. For example quite a few companies are getting into virtual reality like apple, valve and facebook. Eventually vr will be maybe as cheap or cheaper than a phone. There's also elon musk's brain chip thing and self driving cars. But I'm probably gonna be dead in 100 years.

I don't know what the future will look like but a possible idea should be greener and a healthier planet not intoxicated by our modern chemical, where most planet wide problems will be solved where hundreds of diseases will be cured, that is what I hope the future of 2120 will be like

A disadvantage is that many people get cyberbullied, or sometimes people become too attached to their phones, computers, etc. that they don’t do any physical activities such as sports. In 100 years, technology might be able to detect some illnesses, perhaps we won’t have as many people doing jobs, they’ll be replaced by robots or computers. DeleteA big advantage of technology is being able to communicate with anybody at anytime. It can also help when you're doing homework and need to do research. Disadvantages of technology can be attachment because many people are obsessed with staying connected. This can leave to mental health issues and feeling isolated. Technology can also be a big distraction. I think in 100 years technology would become much faster and it would eliminate a lot of jobs. Technology will progress to keep us safer in the future.

DeleteI think that technology has many advantages, some being the ability to communicate and connect with people all over the world and it helps a lot of people stay educated on certain topics so now you can learn anything no matter who you are. But it also has some disadvantages like cyberbullying which can happen extremely easily and addiction. DeleteI think technology will always mostly be a pro, one of the reasons why I think that is because of all the things we can do with it. On technology we can get our work done, make new friends, purchase things online and play games. The internet and technology does have some downfalls though. One downfall is cyber bullying, it is very common and can thrive someone into depression, anxiety or worse. Another downfall is hacking, there is always the possibility that someone will try to hack into your account and possibly steal all your money. In 100 years I feel like there will be a advancement in technology but still have its downfalls.

DeleteI saw a lot of blogs saying that technology is a pro, but I disagree. On the other hand, I don’t see it as a con either. First, I’ll discuss its pros. Technology has allowed us to do things we never thought possible. Now, we can communicate across the world with each other and we can create minimal waste and save the planet which has been destroyed in the past centuries. Not only that, we can create machines that have the ability to synchronize with our brain and control it! Crazy! Technology has also created so many jobs for people and is helping the economy so much. Now, I discussed the pros, but what about the cons? Technology was made to give people more time, but I think it did the opposite. Yes, it made it easier to do a certain task but that just makes it so that you have to do more tasks in a shorter period of time. Now, people are flooded with work, which probably has to do with the increased anxiety and depression in teens nowadays. A long, long, time ago, getting water took up half the day. You had to walk all the way to the well while carrying buckets, then you had to reel in the water and walk back home with buckets of water on your shoulders. Now, it’s a lot easier. I know what you’re thinking, “Well, isn’t that better?”. My answer to that would be yes, in a direct way. But, when you are on that walk to the well, you’re getting exercise, you get to appreciate your environment and you can have a moment of peace with yourself. So in a sense, it’s better in an indirect way. This brings me to my next point, health. Technology allows you to sit on a couch and control your whole life from there. That is terrible for your health and will give you so many problems later on in life, like an arched back and you will have a very hard time walking. It won’t just make you lazy physically, but mentally too. Watching television doesn’t make your brain work and the less you use it, the less intelligent you become. My last con is the controlling part that we are going to learn about. I think that the government is controlling us with technology more than what we realize. On social media, the truth is they can see what your interests are and what they aren’t, and if you are on it enough, they can deduct your whole identity and personality just by collecting data from it. They can also tap into your microphone and listen to you and your family. This doesn’t scare me as much as the fact that the government even has a certain extent of control over your preferences. For example, your “recommended” feed. They can put certain things that will capture your attention but they will also put other things subtly that you might ignore at first glance, but they will keep it on there and eventually you will think, “This is always there, it must be good,” so you check it out. This is just my theory, it hasn’t been proven yet, keep that in mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat I think the world will look like in a hundred years? I think that everyone is gonna be brainwashed, and they won’t even know it. They will be so lazy that they won’t have any ideas of their own and if they do, they will be so insecure that the fake social media (the government) won’t like it that they won’t say anything. They might even have a chip inside their head, who knows. I think the government will have a tighter grasp on their citizens since everything is on the internet so the population will only know some of the truth. The government will also probably create an artificial world for us, that we can live in instead of the real one which they wiped out by destroying everything to create energy for the huge population. Anyways, call me crazy (I know I do), but I refuse to believe that everything is exactly how it seems. People tell you Instagram is fake and then go on the news and believe everything they see. I refuse to believe that there isn't anything fake on the news.

DeleteAlthough I find that technology is great and has many advantages in out society today, I also believe it has many disadvantages. Technology can be amazing but only if you use it right. One of its pros is how you can use it to socialize and communicate with people all around the world. It allows us to connect with the rest of the globe, making there be way less ignorance. Take politics as example, kids more often than not influenced by their parents political opinions but with social media (technology) they can be influenced differently, it might be through the news or a social app like instagram or TikTok.

It's very addicting making people less likely to make personal connections with people and getting less physically active, which is very important especially in teenagers. Besides things like hacking and cyber bullying, the technology is getting too fancy in my opinion. As we get more advanced things seem to get scarier, for example AI. They are already saying how dangerous it's getting. And to be quite honest with you, I'm quite scared to think about how far we will get with technology in 100 years.

I like too use technologie for things like social media but some people use it in a bad way. Mainly cyberbullying, technology has made it super easy for people too do bad things too others, like hacking and posting bad things about them. Social media also makes people feel bad about themself and start feeling insecure. Social media isn’t good for some people's mental health and that isn’t good. There will be no 100 years from now in my opinion, technology will ruin the planet by taking jobs away from people. Technology has a lot of radiation which is terrible for the brain and your health. Technologie is controlling lives, all the stuff people see on the news and on social media is a distraction from what's going on in the real world. The more technology we have the more radiation we have and that will ruin the planet for humans.You guys might think i'm over exaggerating but the world isn’t in a good place. This is why I believe that there is no 100 years from now.

ReplyDeleteI believe that we rely too much on technology. For example, the use of GPS apps on our phones. We simply type in the address and sit back and listen to the directions. We do not pay attention to street signs and our own orientation. We have become so dependent on technology that for whatever reason if our phones break or runs out of battery, we would be literally lost.
I believe the world will be very similar to what it is now. However, I believe all vehicles will run on electric battery power and as a result the elimination of gas stations.

DeleteTechnology. An amazing thing we have created, right? I certainly think so. And that’s because we can literally do everything on it. Just look at all the possibilities: Online banking, schooling, entertainment, ways to contact relatives without spreading the virus ( unless it’s a computer virus ), everything. Well, except for eternal digital lives, but we’re getting there. Technology is incredibly helpful in many cases, and it has certainly changed our lives for the better. Right?
ReplyDeleteWrong. This is actually how I view technology. It has everything, right? Including your personal information, which is being collected by a lot of different people, like hackers, the government, or creepy cyber-stalkers. People are constantly tricked into thinking they have viruses on their computers by scammers, and people hack into computers to see exactly who you are, where you live, and they can transfer money to themselves, without you ever even knowing it. And I haven’t even mentioned AI, which is a truly horrifying concept. That’s because it is a robot program that we created to learn like us, and eventually become smarter than us, which is not something we want, because then the robot apocalypse is on the horizon. And there will be nothing to stop them.
In 100 years, the AI would have either exterminated all of us, or they would have found a way to enslave us, making us complete tasks in the physical world. Another possibility, is that they misinterpret us whe we say we all want to be happy. They hook up pipes into our heads, constantly pumping dopamine to our brains, keeping up the illusion that we are generally “happy. Creepy.

DeleteThere are many advantages to having the technology we have now. For example we can meet people from all the way across the world while sitting in our homes, which even just 50 years ago sounded completely impossible. Another thing that’s great is that we can socialize at any time, anywhere. One thing that is really bad about modern technology is that a person can be bullied and the bully will never get caught because it’s so easy to cover your tracks online.
ReplyDeleteIn 100 years I think that the world will be a much better place, with a lot more problems. If we thought that the world was bad now then we’re not at all prepared for 2120. We might find solutions for things like population control, water, the environment etc.. but the longer we’re on Earth, the more problems will arise that will be harder and harder to deal with.
One of the many advantages for me about technology is that I type faster than I write and can listen to music. Plus it saves trees and paper. Some things are bad with it though, for example cyberbullying and i don't learn how to spell since autocorrect corrects me.

There are many advantages and limitation about technology, it can help with so many things such as learning. You can do everything faster using technology, like typing or searching something on the internet. Technology helps us with many things but there are also limitations. Sometimes, if you use it too much you can damage your eyes and another big limitation is that you can end up isolating yourself from reality. However, in one hundred years, there will be such advanced technology that the advantages will outweigh the limitations. In one hundred years, I think the entire world will not use anything but technology.

Especially this year, technology is needed to learn in different ways for the different types of learners. Technology can either show people a different perspective or keep them in their own bubble of people who think the same as them. To be honest I have no idea where technology will be in 100 years. I think of the present and what's happening right now, my brain can't think of the future.
